Idea: Phantoms but better
When sleeping in beds a little bar of 6 little moons appear, showing how "rested" the player is... when at 3 or lower rest, Phantoms spawn, spawning more and more the lower the rest.
The "Rest Bar" also effects how MANY hostile mobs spawn, and will also make hunger drain faster and hearts heal slower, but....
Rest only goes down every full day and night the player goes unrested.
Rest can also be recovered by standing near a Respawn Anchor, so that Players in the Nether can still get rest.
A new "food item" crafted with Chorus fruit and a water bottle, Chorus tea! which also recovers rest when you drink it.
Now for the Phantoms themselves:
They still circle the above player.
Phantoms will always hover and scream before diving at the player, to give you a more obvious warning when they are gonna dive to take a bite.
They can also crawl now and lunge at players in order to bite them, but they usually only land when they are shot by an arrow, which makes them fall... they are immune to fall damage.
Phantoms do not burn in the day and will instead... just simply poof into smoke... and despawn.
Phantoms can only be "pacified" by... first, shooting them out of the sky, so that they are crawling, then... give them the Weakness effect... only then, can they be fed a "Chorus Tea" to become a Sleepy Phantom...
Sleepy Phantoms count as a tamed mob, and do not disappear in daylight. But they will pretty much refuse to fly, but may do a little flap to "JUMP". They can be commanded to sit, or to follow.
Sleepy Phantoms can be given a scarf if you use wool, with many different ones, depending on the color of wool you use.
It can be "Equipped" latching onto the players back... and the player can perform a "triple jump" and a slow fall, the Phantom flapping and gliding to do so.
This allows the player some more mobility, i guess?
