Every so often, I get that little nagging itch to just get lost in a new Minecraft game. Maybe play through Agrarian Skies again. Or just mess around in Monster. Or try the current version and see what’s changed since 1.6.x .
But here’s the thing. The world keeps moving. There’s stuff to be drawn, stuff to code, and stuff to write. Minecraft has that tendency to act like the lotus plants in the Illiad, especially to people like me. The problem isn’t relaxing by playing the game; it’s that it becomes difficult to break away from the game and do something else.
In a way, it’s similar to what Vina had to say about the Talosians’ dreamlike worlds:
“But they found it's a trap, like a narcotic, because when dreams become more important than reality, you give up travel, building, creating. You even forget how to repair the machines left behind by your ancestors. You just sit, living and reliving other lives left behind in the thought record.”
I dunno if I’ll ever resume playing it. Lately I’ve been on a super productive “winning streak”, so I don’t want to jinx that by getting sucked back into digging holes all way long. Still, I’ve gotta hand it to Mojang. They managed to make a game that’s more addictive than crack.

Why Elleeguard and Mevia look like birds?? Maybe they are birds?!
Ellegaard takes the bird comment as a compliment though she isn’t sure why you include Mevia in that category
She looks more like a snake.
