✨✨HANDSTAND WORKOUT!✨✨ well- a workout for handstands :) ‘ 1. Handstand w/ either tennis balls or blocks. This helps me find “mind muscle connection” in my legs while holding a handstand! By keeping my legs fired up, squeezing in towards each other, this helps maintain stability, encourages core to engage, and brings in more mindfulness & play -don’t drop em;) 2. Core Cruncher 😱!!! This one always gets my belly fired up- and is working on the muscles required for strength in your handstands! (muscle memory!) Option to place your hands on either side of you, or under your low back for more stability. Or- for more intensity, hold and keep your arms above your head!! 3. “Goku Turtle Shell Approach”, (Handstands with Ankle Weights!) For me this really helped feel core engagement in handstands, -this was something I had a hard time figuring out. More “lifting” with control instead of using only momentum to fling your legs up into handstand. Find a neutral pelvis (not too much booty out, but hips not pushing too forward), engage your core as much as possible, and the weights should help you push your core little harder! 4. Wheel, Wall, Press! Adjust your wheel safely against a wall, you’ll notice you might need your hands placed slightly differently then a typical handstand. Once you can feel the weight distribution, start to push your head into the wheel to lift your legs! Think about pushing the wheel & ground away from you, to lift your legs! 👍🏻✨ ‘ Comment questions guys and I’ll do my best to help!!
