I can not wait until my husband is out of the national guard and completely done with the military. Having so many uniform and gear pieces to keep track of is driving me insane.

After it got rescheduled four times, we finally had my husband's pinning ceremony this morning! It was snowing during 🙃 Little Man still looked adorable in his bunting, but I wish I hadn't gone through the work of getting him a nice outfit and fighting him into it just for no one to see it.
Also omg we have been so stupid for the last year and a half not getting groceries at the commissary. Walmart and Kroger are closer so we've just been going to those, but multiple basic staples are cheaper on post.
It's so nice to be together as a family again.
I love being able to talk to my husband, but I don't love seeing how exhausted he looks or hearing about how they don't have enough MREs, and some of the ones they do have are expired and making people sick.
I was able to talk to my husband for a little bit yesterday! He should be home in a couple days so I'm excited. However he also told me that in October he's leaving for an even longer training and he might not be back until December. He's not sure when in October yet, but he said he might miss my birthday. Little Man is 6 months in October and he'll be 8 months by the time my husband is back so I have a feeling he's going to miss a few milestones 🥲
I haven't started decorating for Halloween yet and now I'm not totally sure if I want to or not. I was already thinking about not decorating for Christmas since we'll be flying to see my father in law anyway, but now I'm definitely not.
Before we got married we were long distance and even dealt with a year long deployment. For some reason though it feels so much harder to be away from him now, even just for a couple weeks.

Day two of it being just me and Little Man. My husband is at a training event until September and it's been weird having him gone. Since the military gives 12 weeks of paternity leave I got used to him being home all the time. He was only back at normal work for a few days before he left for training. I'm not really looking forward to him being gone for even longer in a few months when he starts the process of getting out. I'm glad we're missing the next deployment because the last one was probably the hardest period of our relationship, but since he's going to the national guard and his MOS is being gotten rid of he has to go to AIT 🙃 luckily well be back with family by then.
My husband's paternity leave is officially over and he goes back to work today. I'm sad 😢. I love having him home with me all day and I'm going to miss him. He split his 12 weeks into two six week chunks with a few weeks in-between, and now it's fully done. He'll be starting the process of getting out of the army soon so things are probably going to get a little chaotic here soon.
I appreciate everything we get from the army and that they make it possible for me to stay home, but man I'm so annoyed right now. We were supposed to leave to go back home last week Tuesday (the 11th) after Little Man's appointment on the 10th, but they hadn't approved my husband's leave. So we were going to leave yesterday, but the person who has to approve his leave wouldn't be back until today. We're hoping to leave Thursday assuming his leave gets approved, but now we can't get a rental car. We're bringing our two cats since we'll be gone for six weeks and last I checked flying with two cats is insanely expensive. I also don't really want to figure out flying with them plus the baby. So the current plan is for my mom to drive here tomorrow, pick us up, and we'll leave early Thursday morning.
Like I said, I do appreciate the army, but I can't wait for my husband to get out next year so we can move home.
