There was no mistaking Miles’ old truck as it rattled into the empty lot in front of the shop. At least he could relax, knowing a friendly face was going to walk through the door any moment now. Even if he had been the only one working on the man’s car for years, Tony was surprised he had been able to keep it running for this long. By now, it had to just be held together by hope. If he was being honest, he was about as attached to the old thing as Miles was. They had to have taken hundreds of rides around town and beyond in the beat up vehicle, but he had to admit she held up well. Leaning against the counter as his friend entered, he couldn’t help but smile as Miles came into view. “What’s wrong with her now?” he asked with a smirk. Of course, he was hoping it was just an oil change or something easy.Â
