Earth 42 Miles Morales x Fem Reader
Guys donât judge, first of all english ainât my first language. And I wanna change my whole page I want to be aesthetic but I have no idea how to do all of this fancy stuff, so if anyone can help out, Iâd appreciate it đ. Anyways Iâm just getting new into this so I accept criticism <3
Warnings: I have none
You and Miles have been together for a while now. Heâs everything you could want in a boyfriendâ Heâs caring, affectionate, protective and makes always sure youâre safe and alright. But thereâs one thing that always been a problem, his Chronic lateness.
Sometimes heâd cancel plans last minute, leaving you hanging with no expectations. He even once came with a bouquet of crushed flowers. He was looking at you with his apologetic expression he would always give you, when he knew he messed up. And then there were nights he came to you bruised and beaten. He hated it when you were worriedâthough you worried for him constantly. He would tell you the most lamest excuse. He never stopped you from patching him up though. Miles was aware how upset that made you. His excuses were always that he needed to help his mom, his Uncle or that he works on Graffitiâs. Maybe they were true, maybe not.
Either way, you still felt kind of neglected. He still checked out on you or texted you regularly. But you wanted him to show up for you, no distractions, no obligations, just you and him.
One night, looong after youâd fallen asleep, Miles slipped in through your bedroom window. He head a rough night as the Prowler. All he wanted and needed after his patrol, was you in his arms so he would know youâre with him and itâs just you and him asides from his own bullshit. As he slipped in, he saw that the moonlight cast a soft glow over your sleeping face. His features softened. Quietly, he peeled off his jacket, revealing the familiar Prowler suit beneath. He undressed in silence, hiding the suit where you wouldnât find it. Now in only a tanktop and shorts, his body was covered in bruises and dried blood. But he didnât cared for now, he just needed to hold you and breath you in. He gently lifted the covers and slipped in beside you. Wrapping his arms around you, he pulled you close, but carefully not to wake you. Your warmth, your scentâit grounded him. His fingers trailed through a strand of your hair, and he smiled softly to himself. If he could freeze time, he let it. And when he looks at your face, he wanted to protect you from any harm on this world. He loves you, and sometimes he thinks to himself why youâd put up with all of his bullshit, why you put up with his missed calls, his lame excuses, the canceled dates⊠even the bouquet of crushed flowers. But nevertheless, heâs a damn lucky guy and heâd do anything for you, just to see your smile. He still tries his best, but damn. If you only would know why all of that, that heâs the Prowler. Would you still love him? He didnât wanted to think about that, he pressed a kiss on top of your head and held you to his chest. The warmth and motion stirred you from sleep, and you slight shifted in his arms. Miles noticed that and whispered softly âDid I Wake you, Baby? Iâm sorry.â He kissed your head again, even more tenderly this time as a silent apology. You blinked, rubbing your eyes as your voice came out groggy âMiles?â He let out a quiet chuckle. âYeah itâs me baby.â You have a tired laugh and looked up to him with half lidded eyes. âYou snuck in again, didnât you?â He rolled his eyes and grinned âWhat? Is it a crime that I want to see my girl?â You could barely see him in the darkness of your room, and the shadows didnât help. So you reached over and turned on the light on your bedside tableâ only to see his faintly bruised face. âMiles⊠what happened ?â You asked, voice laced with worry. âItâs nothing.â He muttered, trying to pull you back onto his chestâ but he winced and you didnât let it happen. âDonât lie to me. What happened?â He looked away, His eyes were tired, guilty. âBaby⊠I donât wanna talk about it.â You sighed, didnât press. Instead, you got out of the bed and walked towards the bathroom. Miles watched your figure disappear. He knew what you were doing. This wasnât the first time. Youâd patched him up more nights than he could count.
But tonight felt different.
He could sense it. You were more upset than usual. And for once, he didnât even try to lieâ he was too tired. He just wanted your comfort. You returned with the first aid kit and sat on the edge of the bed. You motioned him to sit up, and he obeyed, lifting up his tanktop. You cleaned his wounds, slow and careful, even as he gripped the sheets in pain he stayed quiet. When you reached his face, he flinched as you touched his bruised lip. âSorry.â You muttered softly âitâs okay.â He whispered back softly.
As you finished bandaging him, he looked up at you with that familiar apologetic expression and gently took your hand in his.âIâm sorry,â he murmured, barely above a whisper. You didnât respond with words. Instead, you leaned in and pressed a slow, tender kiss to his lips. He froze for a moment, surprisedâbut only for a heartbeat. Then he melted into it, kissing you back. One hand came up to cup your cheek, the other resting firmly on your waist, pulling you closer. Your arms wrapped around his neck as he guided you onto his lap, keeping you close like he never wanted to let go. The kiss broke, and he buried his head into your shoulder, holding you tighter. Your chest pressed against his, making him wince. "Milesââ "Please⊠just let me hold you.â He murmured and kissed your neck softly and relaxed into you. You held him, massaging his scalp. He loved that. Still, your voice came out barely above a whisper. âMiles⊠is everything okay?â He pulled back to look at you. His face was open, vulnerable⊠and nervous. He knew he couldnât keep this secret any longer, he knew he had to tell you now or never. "Babe⊠I need to tell you something.â
That sentence alone sent a chill through you. "Iâm listening,â you said, bracing yourself. He swallowed hard, his hands tightening around your waist. "Promise me you wonât hate me. Promise me nothing will change. Promise me youâll still love me.â Youâd never seen him this nervous. "Miles,â you said, trying to soothe him. "Iâm serious. Promise me.â He said desperately. Your heart sank. âIs it that bad?â He didnât answer at first. âWait⊠are you cheating on me?â This sentence came out from your mouth before you couldâve stopped it. He blinked, stunned. "Seriously? Thatâs the first thing you accuse me to do?â He scoffs and was clearly annoyed and somehow disappointed that you think that heâs cheating on you, he shakes his head ,,No, I do not cheat on you. Iâd never do that.â He sighs. Iâm sorry⊠itâs justââ you hesitated, your voice cracking slightly. âYouâve been canceling our dates, and every time I go to your place, your mom says youâre not home. It just⊠feels like Iâm bothering you.â You looked away . Milesâs expression softened with guilt as he quickly reached out, gently taking your chin between his fingers and turning your face back to his. âNo, no, no⊠baby, look at me.â His gaze locked with yours, and in that moment, he saw it all, the hurt, the confusion, the quiet disappointment in your eyes. It hit him like a punch to the chest. "I would never cheat on you,â he said firmly, voice low but full of emotion. âI donât even look at other girls. Youâre it for me. Only you. I swear.â He took a breath, voice trembling just slightly. âI know I havenât been there like I shouldâve. And Iâm so sorry for that. Really, I am. But donât think for a second that youâre a burden. Youâre not. You never have been.â He leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to your cheek, then pulled back, offering a faint, comforting smile. "If I could, Iâd spend every second with you.â But despite the warmth of his words, your question still lingered, he hadnât explained anything. "Then⊠why?â you asked quietly. Miles felt his chest tighten. He knew the truth had to come out. He couldnât keep holding it inâif he didnât tell you now, youâd both be stuck in this cycle of silence and half-truths. He looked away, jaw tense, nerves crawling up his spine. "Just⊠promise meââ You cut him off, your voice rising with desperation. âMiles, I promise. Anything. But please, just tell me the truth.â He stared at you for a long moment⊠then finally exhaled, slowly, and prepared to say the one thing he was terrified to let you hear. Miles inhaled sharply, steadying his nerves. âOkay⊠okay, here it goes.â He paused, eyes flickering to the floor for a beat before finally meeting yours again. "The reason Iâm out late⊠the reason I cancel plans or disappear without warningâitâs becauseâŠâ His voice dropped. âIâm the Prowler.â He watched your face closely, terrified of what heâd see. Rejection. Fear. Disgust. But you just stared at him, wide eyed, stunned, curious. "âŠSay something,â he whispered. âPlease.â You blinked, pulling yourself out of the whirlwind in your head. âYouâre serious?â Miles nodded slowly. âY/N, Iâve never been more serious in my life. Only you and Uncle Aaron know. Thatâs it. No one else.â He could feel his heart pounding in his chest. He held you tighter as he bit down on his bottom lip. It was a nervous habit he couldnât break, especially not now. Not when he was this exposed. âIf you donât believe me,â he added quickly, âI can show you the suit. I have it here, hidden.â You were silent again, your brain racing as everything finally started to click. All the excuses, the bruises, the lies.
âY/N⊠please,â Miles said again, his voice cracking slightly. âYouâre freaking me out. Say something. Anything.â You finally looked up at him, your voice quiet. âMiles⊠Iâm just⊠putting all the puzzle pieces together.â His shoulders tensed. Panic flashed in his eyes. His voice dipped lower, almost too quiet to hear. âDo you hate me now?â âGod, Milesâno. No, I donât hate you,â you said quickly, shaking your head. âI just⊠I donât understand why you didnât told me sooner.â Your voice was soft, trying to soothe him. Reassure him. Miles exhaled, his shoulders relaxing just a little. âI thought youâd be disappointed at me. Or worse, hate me,â he admitted quietly. âAnd itâs risky for you to even know, if anyone ever finds out you know who I amâŠâ He trailed off, pulling you into his arms, holding you tightly like he was scared youâd slip away at any second. "Iâm so sorry, baby,â he whispered, his voice thick with guilt. âI didnât want to lie, I just⊠didnât know how to tell you.â You could feel how tense he was, how vulnerable and desperate. Your heart broke for him, but you also understood. You wrapped your arms around him and held him close. "Hey, hey⊠Miles, itâs okay,â you murmured softly. âI still love you. That hasnât changed.â Wanting to show him you meant it, you reached up, cupped his face gently in your hands, and kissed him. Slow. Sure. Like you werenât scared of any part of him. The kiss caught him off guard for a second, but then he melted into itâhis hand coming up to rest on your cheek, thumb brushing your skin. "I love you too, baby,â he said against your lips. When he pulled away, he looked at you like you were the only thing keeping him from falling apart. âYou donât⊠you donât see me as dangerous?â he asked, hesitation flickering in his eyes. You shook your head immediately, firm. âNo, baby. Never.â You leaned in and kissed his cheek. He flushed just a little but couldnât stop the small smile that crept onto his face. Then he wrapped his arms around you again, pulling you tight into his chest, resting his head in the crook of your neck. For a moment, neither of you spoke. You just stayed like that, in the comfort of each otherâs arms, breathing in sync. Milesâs hand moved slowly up and down your back, grounding himself with your warmth. Then, his voice broke the silence.âIâm always gonna protect you,â he murmured. âYou know that, right?â You smiled against his shoulder. âI know.â
After a quiet moment, curiosity got the best of you. Your voice was playful but cautious. âSo⊠now that youâve told me the truth,â you said, glancing down at the bandages on his body, âcan I ask⊠who did this to you?â Miles sighed, then smirked faintly. âSome dumbass criminals,â he muttered, shaking his head. âLetâs just say theyâre not conscious anymore, mami.â You couldnât help but laugh, and he chuckled with you, the tension finally lifting between you. He leaned back onto the bed, and you moved with him, lying gently on top of him. He wrapped his arms around you like you were something sacred, something he could never risk losing. His chin rested lightly on top of your head, and you could feel the steady beat of his heart under your cheek.
He held you like something fragile and irreplaceable, his hand sliding under the hem of your shirt just to feel the warmth of your skin against his palm. His chin rested lightly on top of your head, and for a while, the only sound was the rhythm of his heartbeat, steady beneath your ear. âYouâre really not mad?â he asked, voice low. You lifted your head just enough to look at him, brushing your fingers along his jaw. âA bit.â Miles chuckled a bit, but his expression still a bit apologetic.
âBut,â you added, your voice soft but certain. âYou can be the Prowler, you can carry the whole damn city on your back but youâll always be my Miles first.â He didnât answer right away. Instead, he leaned up, kissing you like he finally understood you werenât going anywhere. It was slow and deep something that felt like a promise in itself. And when he pulled away, his voice cracked just a little.
âYou have no idea what that means to me.âHe smiled against your lips.
And just like that, the storm outside his world quieted. Because no matter how loud life got, no matter how brutal his nights becameâhe had this.
He had you.
And that was enough to keep going.
Caught Between Two Miles
Pairing: 42!Miles x 1610!Miles x spiderperson!reader
Summary: You hated how miles was being treated by the spider society, you decide to help him and end up in the wrong dimension meeting another miles?
AN: Did I take 4 months to get this outâŠYes, is it another partâŠYes? are you gonna love itâŠ.Also yes . Also Y/N is any race, or body size you want her to be.
It was chaos ever since the chase. You just couldnât get miles out of your head, the way he looked, scared but confident, determined he was going to save his dad even if the world was collapsing on him. He was misunderstood⊠and you hated that nobody else saw it.
but you didâŠyou saw him, you were going to help him. He was not going to go through this alone.
You will be there for him.
Even if that means some rules will be broken.
You followed him, you were just as scared yes did you care no but, something went wrong or something or someone routed the jump. Instead of lively Brooklyn, this Brooklyn felt different, heavier. Quieter. The concrete jungle wasnât the same.
When you landed you looked around, the streets were darker, graffiti over gang tags. You looked even closer around you; it was an insignia that was green and purple.
Thereâs no Spider-ManâŠ
You gulped, pulling yourself together turning the corner. Someone dropped down behind you with the same face.
âYoâ his voice was smooth and sly, confident but dangerous. âYou lost or sumn, mami?â
You were stunned
Same face. same voice
but not him
Miles Morales but not your Miles Morales stood in front of you, wearing a black hoodie, a mask, gold chains glistening around his neck, His 2 braids shaped his jaw line, and that smirk yeah, this wasnât the sweet awkward Miles you knew.
âI-Uh think I ended up in the wrong universeâ, you stutter, backing up.
âClearlyâ he scoffs, looking you up and down stepping closer. âBut I ainât complaininâ. Not everyday a spider drops into my city lookinâ like thatâ.
You cross your arms scoffing, âlookin like what?â you say with bass in your voice.
âLike troubleâ, he says with a grin, hands in his pockets walking around you. âOh donât get offended though ma, the fun kind of troubleâ
Your face heats up instantly. âNah thatâs a crazy thing to sayâ
He tilts his head with a smirk. âAnd you blushing my mamiâ.
You kiss your teeth rolling your eyes covering your face with your mask before he can tease you, but you can feel that smirk without even seeing it.
Hours later youâre hanging out with the other Miles⊠explaining how there is another Miles and you're trying to help him save his dad. how the sides society wonât listen, how you couldnât sit back and watch them treat him the way they were.
He leans back against the wall, eyes narrowing thoughtfully.
âSo doppleganger me is tryin to save his pops, and they wonât let him?â
âYeahâ, you sigh. âThey said itâs gonna break the cannon. like itâs not already brokenâ.
He hums lowly, stepping closer again, voice dropping to a whisper.
âIf it were me⊠I ainât lettin nobody tell me who to save especially if itâs my popsâ.
You smirk , meeting his eyes
âThatâs what I told him to doâ.
Thereâs a pause, a long electrifying pause before he smirks again.
âGuess I like the way you think, spiderâ
As you were biting your lip nervously, you saw a a glowing portal rip open behind you, and steps out your miles, looking hurt, scared, frantic, and jealous all at one time.
âY/N? He lets out. âWhat are you doing here and who the hell is he?â
42!miles sighs and leans in with that infatuating smirk.
âDamn, I have competionâŠI like thatâ.
You look at 1610!miles
âUhhhâŠSurprise!â You sigh

PHOENIX WRIGHT
"Y/N? That's my partner, they usually come down to help me out around the office, cleaning, sorting files and bringing me lunch when I forgot.."
"Aren't they adorable? I mean look at that face, I really got lucky.."
"...Why on earth are they looking at me like that?"
"Wait-- You're not supposed to agree with me! People just say that to compliment their partners, this is the part where you tell me how perfect we are for each other or something.."
"This is why I don't talk about my love life at work..."
MILES EDGEWORTH
"Wright? Where on earth did you find a picture of my significant other?- Nevermind that, why exactly are you showing me this?"
"This is my spouse, yes. We've been married for around 3 years and I'm very proud of the fact. If you're looking for them, they aren't here, I make sure they stay far away from my work."
"You seemed shocked to know that I'm married. I'm actually.. sort of offended."
Phoenix catches him sighing as he gazes at the photo later on.
MAYA FEY
"Hey Nick! Where'd you find this picture of Y/N? Have you been spying on me? Rude."

đ WITH MY HOE
â earth 42 miles morales
â tags; implicated relationship, fluff, slightly suggestive
â note; Miles Morales only talked to one person, you
This is a fic made from my old writing account.
It was pretty known that Miles Morales only talked to one person, you. Y/n L/n.
You two were an unusual pair, Miles was known as that cold, closed off quiet kid who never interacted with anybody at school, or the times that he did, he sounded irritated. Meanwhile, you were known for your extroverted exterior. You were friendly and easy going. Which made people take a liking to you, safe to say you were quite popular.
It surprised everyone that out of all the people you chose to stick around with, it was Miles Morales.
You had transferred to Visionâs academy roughly half a year ago. On your first week you were surrounded by tons of people wanting to talk to you, be your friend and of course try to get at you.
On your second week, you walked through the hallways with Miles on your side, the two of you were always interacting. You were giddy and outlandish whiles he still held his nonchalant attitude, but he contributed to speaking with you a lot. Shocking almost everyone in your grade of course, you were walking and talking with one of the most unapproachable person in the school. Only on your second week.
About a month of this and students got used to it, the two of you walking together, talking after class and eating together during lunch it was all normal.
But it was about two to three months in when classmates started speculating about the current relationship between you and Miles.
The subtle hand holding, the random pecks on the cheek youâd give him, when heâd randomly give you piggyback rides when you when you wanted to head to the basketball court, everyone noticed it, they noticed it all.
Rumors had started that youâve been dating, whether before transferring or not, other rumors stated more risquĂ© ideas, that you were doing stuff on the low. Hooking up in each otherâs dorms when no one was around.
About 4 months in and people where still appalled, whenever the two of you were asked, the question was always dodged, left unanswered, causing more rumors and confusion to spread.
It didnât bother you two though, you kept going on with your current relationship, for it was non of anyone business.
It was you and Milesâs life after all.
âYou know no matter what people say, you still my girl you hear?â Miles would randomly say to you when you were hanging out.
âYeah I know, nothingâs changing that.â
Whatever the issue, whatever the event, it was pretty known. Miles Morales only spoke to one person. Y/n L/n

the ocean was quiet at this hour.
not emptyânever empty, but softened, like the world hadnât fully decided to wake up yet. the waves moved in a slow soft rhythm in view of your balcony catching the morning light in thin strips of gold that shimmered and disappeared just as quickly as they came.
youâve been out here since 8:30
now it was almost noon
your book was already halfway through its fourth chapter, pages slightly warm from the sunlight kissing the pages. breakfast had been served hours agoâ6:30 sharp, your mom insisted on sleeping in but you couldnât resist getting some peace and quiet with the sunrise before the staff started blasting a playlist through the speakers again.
you loved mornings like this. quiet ones. ones where nobody expected anything from you.
inside, the suite still, air conditioning humming softly, curtains shifting whenever the ship moved. but you stayed outside anyway, legs tucked beneath you reading with your hair pulled into what was supposed to be a high pony but slowly fallen from the friction of your head on the chair, thoughts far away from anything loud.
thatâs how your mom found you.
âGirl.â she said, stepping into the balcony with an easy smile, sunglasses perched on her head, âyouâve been reading out here all morning, you okay?â
âohâyeah.â you said softly
she leaned on the railing nearest to you, peeking at the cover like she was genuinely curious, even if she wasnât going to read it. âmmm-hmm,â she hummed glancing back at the water then back at you with a fond smile. âYour dad and I are gonna head out in a bit,â she said âlittle excursion thing. probably gonna get a drink or two âŠor three.â
you smirked softly into the pages and gave a small nod, as a moment too long passed without her saying anything you looked up to see her look at you with a soft yet concerned smile.
"and you," she began, pointing slightly at your book " are not staying locked up in here the whole time."
"I'm not "locked up" I'm just, relaxing." you countered softly.
"Sweetie, when's the last time you've actually interacted with people your age hm?" She said now joining you in a seat on the balcony "I didn't book this whole cruise just for you to turn into a decorative plant." she said "I want you out there. having fun. meeting people."
a soft wrinkle between your eyebrows formed "I have people."
"Who?" she asked immediately leaning closer, intrigued.
"...people."
She squinted at you "That's not a person."
You sighed softly, faintly embarrassed because if it wasn't for your strong academic career and involvement in your hobbies you'd probably be viewed as a child who reads romance novels all day giggling to herself eating tubs of ice cream in a week.
She softened a little then, her voice shifting.
"listen," she began "when I was your age, I had boys lining up to even talk to me. And youâ" she tapped your cheek lightly "you got it from me. you're gorgeous! you just act like you don't know it."
"Momm.."
"I'm serious," she smiled. "Find yourself a little fling, a boyfriend. some gal pals. somethingâliterally anything. you're about to be a senior, After this, life moves fast."
You looked down at your book again fingers tracing the edge of the page that you've re-read four times to avoid eye contact. "I don't really..do all that."
There was a pause after thatâheavier, quieter
Then she added, "I just want you to be okay. When you leave for college. when you're not right down the hall anymore."
You glanced up at her because you knew once she started mentioning anything about school or future-wise things she got emotional. You chuckled softly scooting to her chair now sitting in her lap like you were still 6 years old. "I'm still here you know."
She gently cradled your head against her chest, her thumb grazing your cheekbone and temple repeatedly "I know," she smiled, but it wobbled a little at the edges." come on. go get ready. I'm taking you somewhere."
you showered slowly, letting the warm water blur your thoughts until they didn't feel so sharp anymore. when you stepped out, the mirror fogged slightly as you wrapped yourself in a towel and stood there for a moment, just staring at your reflection like a blank canvas mentally sorting through your luggage for an outfit.
your hair was already a statement of its ownâboho french curl braids, small and detailed, falling perfectly in soft layered swirls and ringlets. Your skin was warm toned and glowing from the trip already, faint tan lines beginning to settle in like proof of every hour you'd spent near the sun.
you pulled on your bikini firstâsimple white clean against your skinâthen layered an off shoulder cropped top over it. soft fabric, breathable in this tropical weather. beige linen shorts followed. you kept your jewelry simple but intentionalâgold bangles that made that satisfying clicking when you moved.
your makeup was light, a slightly brighter concealer under your eyes soft sweep of blush across your cheeks and the tip of your nose, enough to feel dolled up, but not too much to give you insane face dysmorphia when you take it off later.
and when you were finally done you looked up and paused.
Okay.
you looked beautiful.
as you stepped out of the bathroom awkwardly, knowing that your mom was probably perched up on the bed waiting for you, she saw a mythical creature of sorts.
"okayyyy," she said, pointing at you like she'd just won something. "that's my daughter."
"stop." you whispered, but your smile gave it away
"okay okay." she said her hands lifted dismissively, she got up, grabbed her bag and room key card. "come on beautiful."
you rolled your eyes but followed her out.
The ship was much louder now. people were awake. music drifted faintly from somewhere you couldn't see yet. laughter echoed off polished floors and opened decks. everything felt bigger than your room had.
your mom walked beside you, chatting easily pointing out random things like she'd been here a hundred times.
"and over there is the pool," she said. "Which you're going to use. Don't look at me like that."
"I wasn'tâ"
"you were."
You didn't argue further.
instead, you just followed her through corridors that smelled like saltwater and sunscreen and whipped cream.
Eventually, she slowed.
a set of wide glass doors came into view.
above them, neon lettering glowed softly:
TEEN CLUB/ ARCADE
your stomach shifted slightly.
"ohâ" you said quietly.
your mom smiled like she'd been waiting for that reaction.
"yeah," she said. "this is you"
"it's... a lot" you admitted.
"lottttt of opportunity!" she sang pinching your side before turning to you fully her soft hands cupping the sides of your arms. "Listen, I'm not gonna drag you in there, or stand over you. I just want you to try."
you looked at the doors again. voices, movement. sound.
"just one hour." she said gently, the tone you couldn't say no to. "if you hate it, text me. I'll come get you."
You hesitated "..alright."
Her face lit up instantly.
"that's my girl," she said squeezing you softly before letting go. "Go on."
You took a breath and stepped inside the shift was immediate. cool air, bright lights. music low but constant. the clicking of arcade buttons and the soft hum of conversations overlapping like waves.
It wasn't overwhelming but it was loud. you stood just inside the entrance for a second too long, and slowly walked in.
your eyes awkwardly scanned for an untaken seat before sitting down at a nearby couch next to an outlet to charge your phone that was on 2% because you suck at charging your phone.
maybe youâd stay an hour like promised, get a slushie, sit in a corner for a little, then disappear quietly back to your suite and order room service ice cream.
a solid plan.
unfortunately, the universe had other plans.
âHeyâthis seat taken?â
you looked up. A boy standing next to the couch he looked about your ageâmaybe older with a deck of cards curved in his hand soft curls that were slightly frizzy from all of the humidity. a plain white wife beater clung to his toned frame followed with a pair of plain light pink swim trunks.
you blinked.
âOh.â
great job. excellent response.
he smiled a little
âohâyeah. sorry.â
he chuckled and shook his head
âdoesnât look taken to me.â he reasoned
thatâs not what you meant..
âno I meanâ yeah.. you canâsit here.â you fumbled out
he let out a boyish giggle before he dropped into the seat with an easy familiarity that somehow didnât feel intrusive.
âSooooâ he sighed getting comfortable his legs spread comfortably next to yours, but still giving you space. âhavenât seen you around yet, you just board?â
âno, I just havenât been here.â
âwhatttt?â he said dramatically âyouâve been missing out then. whereâve you been?!â
âthe pool.â you lied.
âAhâdang. really??,he said leaning his elbows on his knees leaning a bit closer to you, trying to see if he memorized your face. "I havenât seen you.â
a soft moment of silence fell between you two before he spoke up again.
âSo. now that youâre here, you can join us!â he said like some cheerful army recruiter. âif you wantâno pressure of course.â he added quickly. âbut if you donâtâyouâll miss out. definitely. seriously.â His wide, almost begging eyes locked onto yours before his face lit up again
âoh sorryâI'm Miles.â He said extending his hand out to yours.
very respectful.
you shook his hand reciting your name like how you imagined a scenario like this 2 weeks ago.
âAlright.â He said clapping his hand once firmly.
âthe crew is over thereââ he said pointing briefly to a packed table of teens. âI was whooping their ass in uno.â he added before looking around like the FBI was looking for him and leaning closer to you he smelled like the pina colada of your dreams mixed with soft sandalwood.
âbetween you and me. they suck. like they really, really suck. Iâve been playing them for like an hour nowââ
âmiles who are you talking to??!!â A voice rang through the crowd.
he scoffed âsee? sore losers.â he boasted pointing at them with his thumb before echoing back âmy new friend.â
and before you knew it much more than an hour went by.
