New Coronavirus Information.
Ohio County EMA Director Lou Vargo will be a guest on The Watchdog (98.1 FM WKKX and 97.7 FM WVLY) at 3 p.m. to update local listeners are any new information or orders made by state and federal officials.
Testing Location Instructions.

City Restaurants Receive Parking Assistance.
In light of West Virginia Governor Jim Justiceâs mandate that all dine-in restaurants close due to the COVID-19 virus, the city of Wheeling will provide restaurants, where applicable and at no charge, with two metered parking spaces near their establishments for the purpose of take-out convenience. Interested parties should contact the cityâs Finance Department at (304) 234-6472 to make arrangements for the parking meter bags.
Mil Acres Closed Again.
The city of Wheelingâs Public Works Department will again close Mil Acres Drive in Elm Grove for pump station repairs from 1-5 p.m., Thursday, March 19. Motorists should Kruger Street as the main detour.
Decision Made.
Following Tuesdayâs announcement by Gov. Jim Justice of the first confirmed case of Coronavirus in West Virginia and his additional measures to contain its spread, Wheeling University has taken the additional steps that require all students to move off campus by 5 p.m. Sunday, March 22. The Wheeling University administration, faculty and staff will be available to assist students in moving from their residence halls to an environment where social distancing can be implemented successfully, the President added. The University has sent information to all students outlining the procedures for checking out of their residence hall. Those instructions can be found on the Wheeling University Coronavirus webpage.
Bars and Restaurants Open for Carry-Out Orders.
West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice ordered all bar, casinos, restaurants, and limited visitor lottery parlors to close Tuesday evening but did include the fact carry-out and delivery services can remain in operation.
