Once she woke up, for a quick moment she forgot all about the night before. She forgot she almost mated her brother’s concubine, she forgot about her sudden heat. But it was just for a split second. The moment she scented the mattress she remembered where she was. The duchess looks around and found Delilah with four different pillows, making a... fort?

The monsters offer comfort. The nightmare is my home. Where many would be scared, I find I’m not alone. The shadows that surround, Do not engage my fright. Where most long for the day, I embrace the night. 

58. Our muses are destined to run into each other in a maze and fall for each other on their way out

The blond grunted to himself as he made his way around the towering, leafy barriers of the grand garden’s hedge maze. Of course it was just his luck. Enter here to retrieve a lost arrow, and he ends up lost himself. The arrow which he had actually found, in some cruel irony, which he now felt was almost mocking him as he felt its’ smoothness curled up in his fingers.

Arthur giggled as he raced through the woods around his house. It was always so refreshing, being out in nature like this. Especially where he had arrived. A small lake close by in the woods, crystal clear waters onto which the sparkling sun shone its’ bright rays. He loved to kick off his shoes, roll up his pants, and splash around at the water’s edge.

As he sat on a log to begin doing this, however, he heard a rustling in the nearby brush. There were hardly any animals he was aware of in this forest, save some rabbits and deer, so he was more curious than afraid. He stopped what he was doing and stood up, looking in the treeline.
