Overdrive by Smoky Beatz, out on May 9, 2025, is a 10-pole drive to a neon utopia of speed, style, and pure liveliness. The 12-minute, album is inspired by midnight drives, rumbling machines, and illuminated cities, and is a hyper-focused amalgamation of clever rhythms and energetic  retro-futuristic synths making the album the ultimate sound track for a high-speed chase.

Overdrive stomps down on the pedal right from the drop - takes listeners on an epic road trip through the cyberpunk dream of the midnight. On a journey through the entrancing palm tree-bounded biome with UFO clouds sprawling below transcendental skies, it harkens excitement. Every bop hits on a boiling V8, where basslines ride low and synths shine bright like neon reflected in collected rainwater on the instructor's basin of asphalt. 

The album's brand identity - characterized by a distinctive cover with a potent orange sports car bound for speed - is filled with 80s nostalgia within its retro graphics and futuristic bravado in technology - a proper soundtrack to match the music.  Smoky Beatz feels like a mixtape for the latent midnight drive in the driver; the experience can be enjoyed on a well-lit highway, alone at 1am or idling in solo under a mellow afternoon sun.  Overdrive, is 12-minutes of adrenaline-fueled, nimble escapade.
