The Micaiah problem Lives On, even after we know have literal dragons here to solve the mess she got herself into.
Like, I get that at this point (late part3/early part4) she's between a rock and a hard place, but once again the writing screws Micaiah over so so much
Because the thing is - Micaiah went along with the war even before she knew about the Blood Pact. Everyone keeps telling me that she's kind and pure-hearted, but the Fact of the Matter is, when her newly crowned himbo king went, please be my commander in this senseless war, and also I'm going to fully use racism to fuel people's fighting spirit, hope your cool with that, she absolutely went along with it.
Sure she keeps saying that she feels Real Bad about it, but doesn't change the fact that she joins the racism war on the side of racism and seems to be ok?? with that?? because nationalism or smth??
She doesn't even find out the reason for the racism war because of her own initiative! Pelleas doesn't have his breakdown and begs her to stay/confesses about the Blood Pact, because Micaiah decides she can't do this anymore, that her conscience has finally had enough - it's because Sothe is worried about her health and tries to nope them out of there!
I don't know how you can create a sympathetic character out of that, but THEN she also doesn't goddamn expect Izuka to be evil (the most obvious evil vizier since Jafar and wormtongue), again doesn't herself call it quits out of her (supposedly??) high moral codex, only decides that actually killing a lot of people For Home And Country is fine but NOT her himbo friend etc etc.
All of this would honestly probably be fine (could even be interesting/complex) if the writing didn't do All That to her but KEEPS INSISTING that she's basically Mother Theresa who can Do No Wrong, so she never actually has to??? deal with any?? of her choices?? by having characters not like her anymore?? which feels schizophrenic and unearned and makes me SO ANNOYED.
And now it looks like Dragon Ex Machina will solve it for her and it's going to end with everyone talking about what a Nice Kid that Micaiah is Despite The War Crimes....
