due to recent events, i’ve been thinking about a lot of things in relation to writing
1. your body (or at least mine) does NOT react to a traumatic life or death scenario the way you think it will. It’s way different.
2. i’ve realized just how incredibly intimate dressing wounds actually is. sitting on the edge of the tub gripping the edge while someone pulls glass out of your body with your back turned is an incredible display of trust and it feels so deeply intimate in an embarrassing way. it’s inspired me actually so watch out for that.
3. the shower after an injury where you’ve been tended to and your mind is a blur feels so weird. it’s a very out of body experience and at least in my place, you contemplate things you’ve never thought you would. THAT IS the time for those lengthy monologues and intense internal conflicts or realization of persistent emotions that have been pushed aside.
4. watching blood run down your body and mix with the water as it goes down the drain is sick as fuck and idc if it’s cliche, we need to write that more
