Part 1…This is mainly just how much I like playing them, so it’s completely subjective :)

I'm heavily convinced there's at least a small timeskip going on between Wilds and Ascendance, but I keep tucked in the back of my mind the possibility that the DLC is actually very vague with how much time has passed and the possibility that no more than a year has passed by Ascendance.

The reason SPECIFICALLY being the Title Updates and the characters they involve. I wouldn't be pondering this if Capcom specifically stated that everything up to Gogmazios was a requirement to access the DLC, but apparently they aren't.

Oceaniz on twitter mentions that it's weird that Nadia is likely going to be featured in the DLC based on the trailer despite her appearance in the base game not being until TU4. Likewise, TU2 features a fight with Seregios, which involves Nona and several other Kunafan children in a fully rendered cutscene. We even get some post-fight dialogue where Nata shows up because he was worried for Nona.

So like, how are they gonna address Nadia? More importantly, if there's a timeskip involved, how are they going to address the dialogue and cutscenes involving Nona, Nata and the other children?

If Capcom wants to pull all the stops I imagine they have the means to swap models and lines if new VAs are involved, but that'd be a LOT of effort and attention of detail just for the potential that a new player decides to skip on Steve until after they've unlocked the DLC. The only 'easy' way I can really think of them working with this is writing the TU updates as implied flashbacks, sorta like what they did with the side stories in MHS3.

But even then, they aren't implied to be flashbacks in the base game, so it would mean going back and actually putting something that implies a flashback. This is the first time Monhun has worked with a cast that involves significantly younger characters playing a major role in a mainline game, so we're basically in uncharted waters.
