I've literally never interacted with the monster hunter fandom, let alone the monster humter stories fandom, but I've been playing mhs2 and 3 for the first time kind of simultaneously, and WOW mhs2 is so much better in my heart. The Ratha in 3 is so emotionless and he barely gets a chance to have meaningful interactions with the mc, but I just got chills as mhs2 Ratha (spoilers??) flew to save the mc with no dark scary wings!! I'm a simple guy, I just need the legendary Pokemon to have an arc and I'm all in, and none of that is in 3.
Ratha emotional arc, nargacuga (my goat) infinite sneak no time limit, we get to fly up??? not just glide??? i'm free of 3's constant crashing. 10/10
