Well, he had a cat as a kid before everything happened, so finding out you were a catgirl almost made him a bit softer because you reminded him of a good time in his life, and he adored it.

He was also sort of like a cat as well, so when he found out you were a catgirl he was relieved because that meant he could show that part of himself to you, you two could curl up purring and cuddling together after a mission.
