“first off, since this is your first time on the show I want to congratulate you on all your SNL success,” the crowd cheers and claps at the mention, “i think we’re all in agreement that you were a remarkable addition to the cast, and such a hit so quickly - how was that for you?”

“I’m still trying to come down from it - it’s really weird to go from comedy gigs in bars to national television, but it was also the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I’m so grateful to have been blessed with such an opportunity and the friends I’ve made. truly a dream.” the crowd cheers once more, filling your heart with so much warmth, you hold your hands to you chest and nod in appreciation.

“speaking of friends you’ve made, we recently had marcello here, where he spoke so highly of you,” he explains. “i’m assuming you’ve seen that?”

“of course i saw it, i have a bunch of snotty tissues to prove it, cause it made me cry,” you smile as the audience laughs. “it was very sweet. i have a so much love for him.”

“speaking of love…” jimmy starts and you sigh, cheeks heating up when you respond, “i knew this was coming,” fake rolling your eyes.

“you and matthew gray gubler,” he hints, and the crowd goes wild, cheering and clapping because they’ve been waitinggg for more info on the two of you. the cheer even louder when a picture of the two of you from your Instagram out and about appears on the screen behind you.

“yes…” you raise your eyebrows, “continue,” you giggle with jimmy, who is very clearly revving up a question.

“we’re all dying to know where this came from!” he finally bursts, curiosity getting the best of him, the crowds sounds backing him up.

“yeah, it is a strange crossover, i will admit that. but, we met when aubrey plaza hosted the show two years back. she introduced us when he came to watch, but it wasn’t until i ran into him at a thrift store in the city a few months ago that we got to talking - and now he pretty much lives on my couch,” the audience laughs at your choice of words but also cheers and the hint that you two are possibly living together??

“well the fans love you guys - a lot of people say you act like you don’t know you’re famous when people come up to you in the street.” he mentions, with a laugh.

“famous is a big word, which i don’t think applies to me, definitely him though - either way, we’re all people. and i mean these are the people that got me to where i am. at the end of the day I’m always like ‘i made so many new friends today’, and, i don’t know. we love meeting people, i love all of you” you smile to the audience as they clap.

“there are multiple videos of the two of you, one of you guys paying for a strangers meal, one where matthew gives his shoes to a girl on the street because hers were bothering her, and you inviting some girls on the street to your show? i mean you guys are just insanely nice to complete strangers. it’s really awesome, I aspire to be like you guys,” he states.

“like I said, they don’t feel like strangers. i can remember all the people I’ve met. it’s very special. Matthew is the same way - we’re very social people, so every interaction we have is the highlight of our days. and everyone is so kind. I think if someone came up to me and said ‘i hate you you suck,’ I probably wouldn’t respond so humbly,” the audience laughs at your statement, “but yeah. i just like nice people. And Matthew just likes giving people his shoes, I guess,” the crowd clapping and chuckling once more at this.

“that’s just the kind of person he is. there have been so many occasions where I’ve walked around the city in a trenchcoat that is way too big for me when I refused to wear a jacket, and got cold anyway, and he’d give me his. i like to sleep cold, so he endures the tundra that is my apartment at nighttime. he will really do anything for anyone. someday it’ll get him in trouble, but for now, it’s one of the reasons i love him.” And the crowd is like LOVE AS IN PLATONIC OR LOVE AS IN LOVE???

Once again this all goes viral and I’m sure you can picture the comments. They’re raving about how passionately you talk about him. If you ever break up, the world may explode!!

I’m going to sound so stupid if I’m wrong but I’m prettyyy sure Matthew got a haircut because it looks more tame in recent pics I’ve seen…so here are my thoughts on his comedian girlfriend forcing him into chopping it

You probably bring it up like “dude your hair is a MESS please do something about it” and he’s like “whats wrong with it :( “ and youre like king look how wispy and dead your ends are

He doesn’t give in until you threaten not to play with his DEAD hair. He wants you to do it because no matter how silly he is, getting a public haircut where people can gawk in the windows is a little TOO silly. Youre like “bad idea man it’s prob going to look worse than it does now” and he’s like “please 🙂” and thats all it takes! He’s sat in front of you and youre lightly tugging at pieces of his hair to snip away and boy is eating it upppp. He’s literally in heaven, he’s never having anyone else cut his hair ever again. the final product being perfect is a small bonus to the intimate moment he gets to share with you

I’m picturing him out by himself (as he always is, he’s so nonchalant) and some fans stop him in the street and they do the typical omg love your show such a big fan routine and then they mention his haircut and he’s like “thank you! my girlfriend did it for me! :)” and he’d like do a dramatic hair flip like the diva he is.

Honestly I don’t think he’ll ever be like y/n this y/n that..I think you guys like to keep the fans semi on their toes and not specifically name drop each other…and he just loves being able to say “my girlfriend” in sentences. What can I say he hasn’t gotten to say it often in the past! Considering how increasingly reliant we’ve become on the media since his dating era, he gets more chances to say it and get it out thereeee

Anyways the fans are like “what made you cut it” and hes like “she said I looked like a prehistoric wooly mammoth, which i was completely flattered by until she clarified that she meant in a not good way - so I let her go to town with some like, kids crafting safety scissors, and I think it came out really nice!” he beams, so proud to show off his new haircut from his girl!!

Soon enough the media gets their hands on MULTIPLE clips of him explaining how you were the one who cut his hair, (because every time someone asks he gives them the entire story and doesn’t fail to mention your involvement) and comments on those videos are all like:
