Usually when we visit Miami we’re staying in South Beach because we love it, but I was excited to stay on the mainland side because I was able to finally use the city’s Metromover system to get around town. While I appreciated this while being injured, it’s a fantastic way to navigate downtown Miami regardless: it’s free and can give you a respite from walking around in the intense south Florida sun.

Shoutout to one of my favorite ways to get around in downtown Miami: the Metromover! It’s totally free and is a particularly good option when the weather is hot, which is arguably most of the time. On my last trip to the city the system was running on one large loop, seemingly due to work they’re doing on it, so it made it ever-so-slightly less convenient, but it’s still great. It’s also a fun way to get to know that part of Miami, and while I’m sure it will take a long time to come, I hope that the proposed expansion to Miami Beach does come to fruition.
