Methanol market softens further in Hazira
Methanol prices in Hazira recorded another weekly decline, extending the softer tone seen during the past month. Indian Methanol prices stood at Rs 60.50/kg this week, compared with Rs 62.00/kg in the previous week, marking a fall of Rs 1.50/kg. The product has also moved down by Rs 5.50/kg over the fortnight from Rs 66.00/kg, showing a steady near-term correction. The current price is positioned at the stated support level of Rs 60.50/kg, while resistance is noted near Rs 62.00/kg.
The monthly comparison shows a much sharper decline, with prices down by Rs 13.50/kg from Rs 74.00/kg. Despite this recent fall, the broader trend remains above earlier baselines, with the three-month level at Rs 33.50/kg and the six-month level at Rs 30.50/kg. Methanol prices in India have moved within a volatile range, with a recent high of Rs 80.00/kg during the last year. The latest update shows that Indian Methanol prices remain under short-term pressure while staying well above three-month and six-month reference points.
