things that happened at dramafest 2020
- two prom-posals happened during dinner. one of the girls was already going with someone else, but the other one said yes!
- we saw Young John Mulaney (our emcee from last year) again
- our saxophonist created a frighteningly-successful cult (all hail the walrus) that involved at least fifty high schoolers in a room screaming
- I pushed my friend through the halls of winthrop high school on a swivel chair warning the public about the cult
- our emcee changed dresses at least four times, and looked stunning the entire day
- I had my first experience in a mosh pit. theatre kids are incredibly violent people. I enjoyed it nonetheless.
- everyone’s shows were spectacular. like, I don’t have words to describe how impressed I was. I honestly had no idea who was going to move on, which is rare in situations like fest.
it was a great day all around, and I’m so proud of everyone, regardless of whether or not you moved on. now, onward to semis.
And always time for Meth, lots of Meth.
Tomorrow
Tomorrow is drama festival
Where my drama club competes against 5 other schools all performing plays under 40 minutes
If you go over 40 you’re disqualified
And only 3 plays can move on to secondary fests
And we’ve never done a run of our show below 40
The pressure is on
The anxiety is high
WINCHESTER - A street hockey rink may soon be coming to James Wood Middle School, thanks to a partnership with the Washington Capitals professional ice hockey team. The Capitals have secured $165,000 from the National Hockey League's Industry Growth Fund, and the team wants to use the money to build an inline skating rink behind the Amherst Street school. The rink would cost $222,500, with 75 percent of the funding coming from the Capitals. The Capitals would provide the rink, and the team would have a logo on the rink. Once completed, the school district would own the rink and could use it for physical education classes.

For once I feel as though I have made M proud. Case High School Theatre Company won our first state finals without M tonight, but I know he was watching us and cheering us on. #4M #doubt #thewhitesnake #METG #statechamps
