bloodbending is so villainified nowadays by most of the fandom, and how out of the 4 element's 'ultimate' extension it's somehow the only one that is so...censored, so taboo and immoral if you dare talking about it in a positive light.
Zuko learnt to shoot and redirect lightning, and nearly used it to kill his father ; Toph bent metal and killed 2 men - 'it was offscreen, in order to free herself so no biggies!' ; Aang and...probably everytime he lost control, damaged his surrounding and hurt harmless people but his emotional pain counterbalanced it right ; when in reality,
lightning?? that shit can literally burns and destroys internal tissues and damage the outer skin (hellooo, Zuko took a lightning that burned him from the inside out insane shit right here);
airbending?? imagine how you can manipulate the fucking air ,the oxygene out of someone's lungs and probably made them explode from the inside;
earthbending/metalbending? you can bury people alive underground, lock them up in a metal shaped form box, or even stick it the closest to someone's skin. let them rot just like that.
but bloodbending is bad. alright. i fully blame the way it was introduced in the show, and how Katara trauma was weaponized against it to justify its inherent 'evilness' - stopping Hama, the search for Kya's killer... (as well as Hama's own, first how she had to invent it to simply survive, and how she used it after on innocent civilians, and Aang, Sokka etc..)
