#meta update

I added another meta to my Masterpost, so I thought I'd let the void know again! It's number 16 on the list:

It's called "Ceci n'est pas une plume" and it's a meta in which I'm a bit of a nerd for language and also explain why learning French and magic the human way says so much about Aziraphale as a character. You can also find it right here!

I was crazy busy these last few weeks, and let me tell you one thing, this stuff is what lit majors write essays about. You could maybe get a bachelor degree writing about Tyrat the Giant. There. Is. So. Much. Of. It.

If I had just collected the quotes, it would be one thing. Now I'm putting them in groups and interpreting from it - gotta play the word association game with GRRM characters - half of them meet the criteria for multiple groups, in a way which connects the imagery. I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up HotU length or a multi-parter.

HEADS UP FOR JON VIII, ASOS: If you want to save yourself some work, keep the Battle of Blackwater chapters at hand. Jon and Tyrat are framed as fighting opposite sides, there is fire, Jon is battling a giant...

Jongret vs. Tyshae. Y shows up a bizarre amount when dealing with giant imagery, such as in Jon's black ice armor dream, or wishing she'd taught him how to steal one...

The armor imagery 👆, a lot of fool imagery... Jon will not be friendly for so much longer

Cat feels a giant's hand pressing down on her. Then she recites her personal kill list (Arya got it from somewhere I guess) and names Tyrat last.

Foreshadowing Bran letting Tyri0n live if he bends the knee in the conversation with Stannis, where he offers Jon Winterfell

Aemon and Naerys = Princess Daeryssa getting saved by Selwyn of the Mirror Shield, from Giants = Joffrey protecting Sansa against Hound and Payne

On that note, first person to outright call T a Giant? Maester Aemon.

Tall as a King, in the shadow -> Last of the Giants. T will be the Last Lannister, the Mountains from Casterly Rock (Tywin once loomed as eternal as this mountain...)

The Titan of Braavos, or: the Snowcastle Chapter really was George abandoning all subtlety regarding Sansa's arc. Ending LF then Ending T, QitN, Jonsa. The Trifecta.

Some more but that's all I can remember right now and I should honestly go to sleep soon, so...

It’s a Tumblr and/or theme error. They worked fine for a year or two and then *poof*–gone. I haven’t the coding ability (or interest) to go into the html and discern what’s wrong, or if it can be fixed easily. 

My theme is dicey and I’ve discovered over time that it’s full of errors. I’d love to get rid of it, but I haven’t yet found one that has the easy-to-read large font which is a must for my blog, the exact posting dates of every entry, and the good high-res imaging. These are all must-haves. Oh, and it needs to be free. I’ll take suggestions.  XD

Off and on I go back through and recategorize what I’ve written to use a newer tagging system that will group like posts together, and that would work even if links fail. 

So, for example, if you want to see all my posts that relate to season 1, look up “bonearenaofmyskull.tumblr.com/tagged/season 1″ or if you want to see all my posts relating to Bedelia, you’ll do the same with /Bedelia du Maurier. Or /Clarice Starling. Or whatever. 

This should work consistently by character name because I’ve tagged by character name since the beginning. I haven’t tagged by episode title or by season from the beginning, so that’s only going to work for meta I’ve written in the past two years or so, plus a handful of my early work that I’ve gone back and retagged for the new recategorizing. 

“/Will Graham” and “/Hannibal Lecter” are going to be a bust because they’re in almost every post.  XD

If you want to just skim through the whole thing as you go, you can use “/hannibal meta” and that one should have EVERYTHING, from the very beginning, without fail, since it’s the tag I’ve always used.

If you want to roll the dice on some concepts, I believe I’ve tagged by ship name consistently, and I’ve used “s2 speculations” (or s3, s4, etc.) all along for hiatus predictions/brainstorming/goofing around. Real life creative names should be consistent, so if you want quotes Hugh Dancy has said about something, use “/hugh dancy.” 

You can roll the dice on things like “/hannibal and ableism” and might turn something up. Posts that are strictly Thomas Harris should be “/harrisverse” and posts that are a comparison between his work and Bryan’s should be “/harrisverse fullerverse” and posts that are about Bryan’s goofy multiverse are “/fullerverse.” All this is a real crap shoot though. 

I don’t know if I’ll ever get around to finishing retagging everything. It’s really boring and takes a lot of focus, and then I go long enough between sessions of working on it that I forget some tags (even though I have them written down) and then have to redo the ones I did. It’s never ending.
