I started these wayyy back in December. I immediately fell in love with this song and knew i NEEDED to cover it. I finally finished it about 2 weeks ago!!! i wanted to be one of the best videos I’d made to date and it came out wonderfully, check it out here!
This song was at first REALLY hard to translate because most translations are JUST vague enough that it can come across as a ghost of someone who committed suicide talking to themselves, or someone coping with a break up. after reading the author’s comments, I figured it was the former.

I’m realizing that the first track (’because summer will be over soon’) on ‘hana to mizuame, saishuu densha’ introduces a lot of lyrical and melodic motifs that the rest of the songs pick up on and play with. For instance, places like the temple gate and the bus stop are mentioned in ‘Hiru Ao’ and ‘Meryuu,’ and abelia flowers and departures appear in ‘First Train and Kafka.’ Basically, I’m gonna need to draw out a flowchart for this album.
Translated the lyrics to n-buna’s “Hiru Ao” (Afternoon Blue) after all. The song really does seem to precede “Meryuu,” as it not only title-drops the other song, but even parallels some of it’s lyrics. Translation under the cut.

*Not sure about this line. Listening to the song, I thought it meant “The fish goes/swims” (あの魚が行く）but instead of “行く” the official lyrics use “征く” which sounds the same but means “to conquer,” so...?
