1. My nails grow super fast, and my pinkie nails fastest of all, for some reason (or else I just break them off less often than my other nails); my friends regularly refer to them as my crack nails because I’ll have the two long pinkie nails, and then the rest of my nails are broken down to normal, human length.

2. I’m really sensitive to sound and can’t sleep without blocking out even everyday, ambient noises. I used to wear earplugs to bed every night, but recently I found some noise-cancelling ear buds that are actually comfortable to sleep in, so I were them now. They’re Bose and were super fucking expensive, but worth it; they block out way more than the earplugs did. I turn on the noise cancelling, put on some white noise, and I can’t hear a damn thing. You could break in and murder me and I’d never hear it coming; it’s excellent.

3. I have really small ear canals and regular foam earplugs can be incredibly painful if they’re left in too long. I can wear them for a little bit, but I always had to wear the silicone ones overnight because after a single night of the foam ones my ears would be raw and throbbed awfully. Last time I went to an ENT, she actually commented on how small they were and had to switch out her usual tools because they were too large to fit in my ear.

merrysithmas said: that was me and i stand by it lol. she absolutely ruined the character (and i agree the character was also written horribly in the first place, therefore her job as an actor was to infuse that role with as much as she could - and my opinion she was wooden and did not even come close to bringing the role any complexity). good acting can turn writing around and it can also inspire future films to expand a character’s role and backstory. her acting did not contribute to that.

merrysithmas said: also bw was pretty amazing in the comics - what with the aspect the russian/soviet ties brought in and also her connection to bucky. she is a truly cool character and yet the mcu included… crickets… zilch to do with any of that apart from maybe some unquestionably throwaway lines (some bizarre shoehorned infertility storyline… ok male writers..) and a severe deficit of screentime in comparison w male counterparts over 15 years. 15 years! that fact alone shows the sexism of the series.

LOL yes agreed on nearly everything. Actors having charisma or being able to bring life to a role can have a huge impact. If we’re being real, the fact that RDJ is charming and a good actor is probably what made the MCU what it was, and there are plenty of actors like Tom Hiddleston or Mark Ruffalo who took a character that didn’t have much distinguishing it on the page and made their character and themselves into one of the most memorable characters in the franchise, and ScarJo clearly didn’t do that with Black Widow. I mean, Scarlet Witch is probably my favorite MCU movie character and there isn’t a lot on the page when it comes to her character either, but it’s a good concept and Elizabeth Olsen is a good actor so it made the character very entertaining and memorable to me. 

And exactly. Obviously ScarJo isn’t to blame for the MCU being sexist, however if her character had any sort of breakout success then it’s a guarantee she would have gotten better stories and more screen time. I’m not trying to pit Black Widow and Scarlet Witch against each other but they’re like two of the only significant female characters in the MCU that I can think of, and comparatively they’re both getting their own spinoffs at the same time despite the fact that SW is way newer and has way less appearances and screen time. Yes, she’s getting a TV show while BW is getting a movie, but it still seems relevant.
