Mereope mentioned something about ‘helping Wonder tackle summer once again’ so that shows she either remembers all the time loops or at least knows it’s happening also the time loops are such a great spin on repeating events, you can have all the summer, Christmas, New Years of Valentines events you want under the prefix of ‘each one takes place at a different loop, though it comes with the implication that the story isn’t linear and the Phantom Thieves team that we have been following has looped at least once.
Yeah, it seems to suggest Merope knows something about what's going on, and/or at least remembers the first summer event, despite Wonder himself not seeming to! It's a delightful little comment, haha.
I agree, the time loop setup is a great excuse for them to have all the holiday/etc. events they want, regardless of whether they've done one before or whether the timeline "makes sense" in the traditional manner!
I would like to point out, though, that the summer events (or any events, in general) could take place in alternate timelines, while we're still following the same timeline for the main story. As long as the team has all the same people by that point in the event, there wouldn't be any obvious indication to us, the players, that it was in another timeline. It'd be a pretty sneaky trick from the developers, if so, haha!
(I guess the only potential issue with that theory is that we don't know for certain whether Lufel has been part of their team in any other timelines...)
