This rp made me really wanna write something cute, so I kinda just went with it while writing this Merlei fan fic ;w;
She sat on her balcony, like she did everyday, looking out towards the hills.
Ashlei hadn't seen in so long, she wondered if he had forgotten her. It seemed like only yesterday when he had confessed his undying love for her, and his seal had broken.
But he had decided to journey around to find a way to make himself mortal, so that he could share his life with her without ever losing her.
Now she was left alone, waiting for him for what seemed like a millennia. How many days had passed? Weeks? Months?
Her heart ached for his presence again, but feared she would never see him again. Everyday, she looked out to where he had disappear the last time she had seen him, waiting... hoping...
One day, she sank into a nearby chair as she waited one day, covering her face and crying.
He was never going to return; she was just going to have to accept it.
“What's wrong, my dear Fenix?” a voice so familiar, yet almost ancient voice to her came from behind
She turned around to see him standing there... His one teal eye and the other aquamarine eyes sparkled in the sunlight. His smile was large, but not enough to show teeth. And his outfit...
It was not the same one she had known him in. No longer did he wear the pink capes over his shoulders and waist. No longer did he wear his familiar white boots, or his fuchsia shorts. Even his familiar belt buckle was missing!
Instead, he wore a white long coat with a magenta vest and tie underneath it. His pants matched the coat, and had black boots on his feet.
But the familiar magenta gloves still sat on his hands, and he stood nervously in the doorway.
“Ashlei... I'm so sorry I took so long! I searched all over the world to find a way, and I finally did it! Please... please tell me you haven't lost hope in me...”
His gaze turned away from her, filled with hurt and heartache. He clenched his fists.
He was so scared that she had forgotten him or lost hope that his whole body shook in fear.
“I never gave up hope on finding it, because I always had you in my heart. I never would have replaced you, or forgotten you...”
Tears formed in his eyes, still too afraid to look her in the eye.
“I-I still love you, Ashlei... Please... forgive me for leaving your side for so long...”
Ashlei stood speechless as he rambled, having troubles believing the man before her was her long lost lover. Once he had finished, she stepped cautiously towards him until she was before him.
He looked down at her, some of his tears escaping and falling onto her face. He looked away from her again, tears continued to fall down from his face.
She lightly reached up and touched his face, feeling for sure if the man before her was really him. Her touch caused him to look back at her, his eyes had grown wide.
“Mer...?” she finally spoke, “Is... is that really you...? You're... really here...?”
Mer nodded, and all of her emotions flooded out at once, jumping on him and giving him the longest, most passionate kiss she'd ever given. Mer panicked, and grabbed her as she jumped, leaning into the kiss when their lips locked.
When they broke, heavy tears fell from her own eyes, with a large smile on her face.
“Mer... I WAS SO LONELY HERE WITHOUT YOU...! I-I... I WAITED FOR YOU EVERYDAY, AND EVERYDAY YOU DIDN'T COME!”
Her arms became weak, and began losing grip on him, to which he quickly reacted and readjusted his grip on her.
“I waited... and w-waited for you.... fearing that something had happened to you, or you never found it... or...”
She buried her face in his chest, bawling her eyes out.
“BUT HERE YOU ARE! ALIVE! AND HERE! You look so different! But you... you radiate something I've never felt from you before, and maybe that's how I know you human now. But... I NEVER CARED! I WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH YOU, EVEN IF YOU HADN'T LEFT TO FIND YOUR MORTALITY! I WOULD HAVE LOVED YOU JUST THE SAME!”
Ashlei hiccuped and coughed from all the water leaking from her eyes.
Mer pulled her head close to his, and locked lips with her, hungry for her.
“I WAS SO WORRIED THAT YOU HAD MOVED ON, THAT MY HEART CONSTANTLY ACHED FOR YOU! I-I... I missed you so much...”
He held her close.
“And my love for you has never wavered! In fact, I love you even more than I did before I left!”
Ashlei hugged him tightly.
“And I love you even more than when you left as well! Please never leave me again...!”
He smiled, still crying as he looked into her eyes.
“I promise.”
