No Filter by Michael J. DiMotta
Valids by Michael J. DiMotta 2017
It’s one thing to struggle from the medical consequences of an eating disorder.
It’s another to see someone you love dealing with the same damn thing.
Really hurting right now, because I’m in the hospital watching someone I know go through the initial recovery of bodily functions after a collapse yesterday, but there appear to be some more severe and permanent issues as well.
This is what happens. It is not romantic. It is not a “lifestyle”. It is irregular heartbeats and low blood pressure and hair loss and ruptures and organ failure.
About to leave to go for a walk to try to get some energy because I was here at the hospital yesterday, then traveled back to my university town for an hour on the bus, tried to sneak in a little sleep, went to work, and am now back again visiting. I am just so mentally, emotionally, physically drained but, now that I’m writing this, I feel a sudden responsibility to “show up” and be present for my other friends struggling, and make a difference on a larger scale.
It’s just so hard to watch from this angle, knowing what it’s like. How it can feel like an addiction. I hope that, if you are reading this, and are struggling in any sort of mental health capacity, that you seek help. Because goodness gracious, it will get so much worse if you are on your own.
I don’t always charge my devices, but when I do I try to charge them all at once.

You're really beautiful! :)
Aw Thank you
Goals for October
1. Walk to and from the train station everyday.
2. Study two nights before instead of the night before
3. Actually review new things that haven't sunk in during class (biology)
4. Make time to listen to music, unwind, and stretch everyday
5. Give a fuck, but not too much so that my mental health is strained (work in progress)
