If you're in the UK, and especially if you are of univeristy/college/school age, please get yourself vaccinated against Meningitis if you aren't already and are able to.
There is a large outbreak in Kent they've been trying to contain, but I work in London and we got a warning from our own uni that a student was affected (they were not at the uni), but we still need to keep an eye out as a common sense precaution. [Updated Context]
Meningitis is easily protected against with proper vaccination, otherwise it's a very fast and very deadly disease if not caught in time.
You are at higher risk if you're within schooling age, especially young children. So please take care.
If you don't know whether or not you're vaccinated, check with your parents (if safe to do so), or check your medical records with your doctor.

[Another Update (heavily paraphrased): We've been told we've got the all clear after the relevant checks were done. So this is good news :D But y'know use common sense, have good hygeine practices, keep an eye on your health, etc.]
