Memoir Comic: Scars

Continuing work on Betrayal, this will be chapter 3, page 2. I normally start by putting all the text that needs to go in onto the page. I then think about what speach bubbles I want to be separate, and what I want to be in dialogue. I move these around, then I draw the layout (the panel boarders). I do try to make these a little different each time so that the actual pages aren't boring to look at. Then, I start drawing, panel by panel. For something like this, where it's two people talking, it's hard to keep it dynamic and entertaining, so I try to move bodies as much as possible, while keeping the conversation natural. Where that's not possible (as in when the characters are just sitting next to eachother as above), I try to move the line of sight, so that the reader sees the characters from different angles. Betrayal is a free webcomic about the slow decomposition of a friendship between three people who grow up together.
