dawn laid down on the floor of her suite. arizona laying down beside her. they were having a feelings hour. the two had been opening up to each other and sharing how they had been doing the past couple of months. sometimes you needed to just check in on your friends from time to time. “if i tell you something will you promise not to tell anyone?” she asked turning to her friend. they nodded their head in response. “a couple years ago I went looking for my birth parents in vietnam— I don’t know why, because i was adopted when i was one, but for some reason i just had this urge to reach out to them and tell them that i’m doing okay?” she folded her hands on her stomach. “i shouldn’t have tried learning anything about them.” she looked off at the ceiling fan spinning over her head. “—when you’re adopted, sometimes you start feeling minuscule, because your bio parents didn’t want you. then you’re supposed to feel better later because your adopted parents wanted you— they love you and support you.. but, for me, i’ve just never felt that. learning about my bio parents just goes to show that neither of them want me. i’m just like...” she didn’t finish her sentence. “i just want to feel wanted.”
