True. The first time is happened it was an accident. He hadn’t realized that they both hadn’t seen it and so when he he said passing “oh that guy definitely did it” he meant it as a reflection of how it seemed so obvious in hindsight, but the other person was like “holy shit, how did you guess that?” and it sounded so sincere and it was so nice to be complimented that he never bothered to correct them. And then kept doing it.

Haha, definitely a misconception, but an understandable one. He did bring it with him to the circus and wears it during his down time mostly because it’s very comfortable, but also like his childhood home it simultaneously is symbolic of a difficult time in his life and a better one.
