quick clarification cause i havent posted about these ocs: morjen being a very old and self isolationist shadow siren from pm:ttyd, chase and jude both background members of grizzco. chase is another young runner with a strong dislike of spencer and her attitude, judith's around the same age as spencer's mother and continues running for lack of anything better to do after her life fell apart from an old tragedy.

easy answer for morjen, amaranth representing immortality; but also mushrooms, being resilience, solitude, and disgust. mourningbride or the pincushion flower for jude, a widow's flower; plus boxwood for a stoic constancy. st. john's wort represents animosity, which works well for chase, or stinging nettle, for slander but still protection.

🌹 [ROSE] Does your OC believe in true love? Why?

love for another person has never really shown up on morjen's radar, they were a pawn created for world domination until they were forced into hiding and then they were a cynic. it isn't that they're doomed to outlive their lovers or whatever, romance simply has no utility in their mind; they are too permanent a fixture to believe in the immutability of anything, so while they've kept confidants, or know other individuals to be definitionally irreplicable...those are matter of fact, and not unique. i think morjen does have a deliberate tenderness in their heart that could pass as "love," especially for their plants, but i think to them love would be--like anything else--a decision you make continually until you stop someday, and they might still be making that decision, but they won't forever, and that's a normal, neutral thing.

i think it would be funny if chase believed in true love, but it hasn't really come up in his life yet. jude definitely thinks she's lost her one chance at true love. :(

💮 [WHITE FLOWER] Has your OC ever kissed someone? Who, when, and where?

i doubt that morjen has, i honestly don't think kissing would be a thing that mattered among shadow sirens. they have no use for it (owing to not having a distinct face) and morjen has no interest in adopting the cultural axioms of the rest of rogueport and etc., it's just kind of weird and gross to them.

once, during an afterschool party which he was bought into attending by an extroverted turf friend of his, chase was bullied into a game of spin the bottle and made to kiss a girl that had made fun of him for his metallica t shirt forty minutes prior. she had joined to kiss another boy that she didn't actually get the chance to; he has never forgiven either of them for this.

jude has done a lot of kissing, multiple folks at many different points in her life--she wasn't shy in her younger years, she's good at it, she enjoys it, she's playful and inventive and passionate. but she hasn't kissed anyone since her partner died and doesn't want to anymore, she'd rather die with their lips the last impression on hers.

🌸 [CHERRY BLOSSOM] Does your OC believe in legends/myths?

much of morjen's problems come down to the fact that they are a legend, and not a very fondly-remembered one. they're older than a lot of the local myths and if not the source of others then acquaintances of the origin; but the past which came before them doesn't catch their attention at all. they will believe you as far as it is useful to them and then resume living their life when it's no longer important, as they always have.
