Apologies for the delay in greeting you all. My work keeps me busy and my hobbies keep me busier still.
Scully, pleased to make your acquaintances.
@mellowmelancholia replied to your post “ok why do people ask if pokemon are food? i’m...”:
people don't like to think about animals they consider pets being eaten, but the lack of regular animals implies pokemon are food and that creates a morbid fascination.
maybe so, but the games aren't actually subtle about it. heck, some pokemon even eat people!

@mellowmelancholia:
playing videos game. what did you get up to?
Astrid, a friend of mine, dragged me to a materials conference she’d been eyeing, and everything sort of spiraled from there once we got into conversations with one of the speakers afterward. I think I at least verbally agreed to contribute something, but the details were still fuzzy. She’s never let me leave physics behind for good, for better or for worse.
What game?

(quietly) kicking down the door to your library to learn about mushrooms

pretty sure that doesn’t grow around here so i think i’m safe. but tragically it looks like neither does the mushroom. our most popular local edible species is chanterelles!
