Once Beautiful Stamens
Weeping Bottlebrush, a Melaleuca cultivar, producing one of a few flowers in its shaded spot in the Australian Garden. Photo credit: Eleanor Chua.
This bottlebrush was formerly placed in the Callistemon genus which incidentally meant “beautiful stamens”.
The fluffy, sweet-scented flowers of Melaleuca linariifolia, or Snow in Summer. I planted three as a hedge and they've grown up rapidly.
