Mégachile des jardins, Megachile willughbiella, famille des Megachilidae. Il s'agit d'un mâle qui est aussi surnommé mégachile en gants blancs en raison des longs poils blancs sur son tarse (la dernière section de sa patte, ici celle de devant !) qui servent à libérer un parfum pour attirer les femelles. Il a aussi des poils blancs sur la tête.

Probablement une mégachile de la gesse, Megachile ericetorum, famille des Megachilidae. Il s'agit vraisemblablement d'un mâle, si mon identification est la bonne, puisqu'il est grisonnant tandis que les femelles sont plus jaunes.

Mégachile géante, ou abeille résinière géante, Megachile sculpturalis, famille des Megachilidae. Il s'agit d'une abeille solitaire originaire d'Asie qui est considérée comme invasive en Europe, elle occupe notamment les habitats et mange la nourriture de certaines abeilles solitaires. C'est la deuxième abeille la plus grosse que l'on peut observer en Europe, après le xylocope. Elle a été observée pour la première fois en France à la fin des années 2000.

Megachile sculpturalis, a sculptured resin bee! I watched this hole that had been filled with resin by who was presumably this bee's mother for a year to see when the new bee would emerge, and it finally did in late May! By this time the following month, the hole and another one nearby was filled again to repeat the cycle with a new baby bee.

A néhány éve kifurkált tuskóban évről évre nagy számú kék fadongó lelt otthonra, fúrtak maguknak új járatokat és sokasodtak.

Ezúttal azonban a meglévő járatokat legújabb vendégeim, az óriás művészméhek hasznosítják! A nagyméretű de ártalmatlan kisjószágok engem is körbedonogtak, aztán mentek vissza melózni, hogy ivadékbölcsőket készítsenek és azokat gyantás zöld levéldugókkal zárják le.

Red mason bee, more gingery than red though - you can see the horns on her head, between the eyes, for which she got her scientific name (bicornis).
