Mega Floette is incredibly unique, with no other Pokémon quite like it. Only one special kind of Floette can mega evolve- that being Eternal Flower Floette, AZ's own Floette that was altered by the power of the ultimate weapon. Without going into spoilers for Legends Z-A, Mega Floette also a special role in the story, meaning a lot of players will undoubtedly have particular attachment to her! When it comes to Mega Floette herself, it continues to be unique, being the shortest Mega at only 20cm tall. In comparison though, Mega Floette is the Mega that proportionally increases the most in weight when it mega evolves, becoming a whopping 110 times heavier than her previous form! And all that extra weight translates into power for sure, with a huge 155 Special Attack stat and an ability that boosts her Fairy type moves by a third, it's no wonder that Mega Floette has been a menace for many competitive players recently! With a lot that makes her special, does Mega Floette also get a very special vote?
Well, up against Mega Floette is Mega Heracross! Heracross has always been a pretty beloved Pokémon by fans, so it was only natural that it was one of the initial batch of Pokémon to receive a power boost through Mega Evolution. And what a power boost it is! Pokédex entries for the bug claim that it can lift 500 times its own body weight- or over 31,000kg! That's enough to lift two double decker buses at once- and with more strength to spare. It's no wonder that after mega evolution ends, Heracross' is left with muscle soreness! In terms of Pokémon stats though, that strength clearly translates into its massive Attack stat. At 185, there is only a single Pokémon that can best it- and that's Mega Mewtwo X, a Legendary! With its beastly beetle strength, and over 25 years for Heracross to make its way into our hearts, can Mega Heracross overcome the novelty of Mega Floette?

I played a lot of Champions today and I'm realizing that Mega Gallade is a very fun anti-meta pick right now! I love deleting Mega Floettes, the so-called best mega of all time :)c
I've also deleted Mega Dragonites from full health, as long as Triple Axel hit all three times. It's super satisfying. He's also a fantastic counter to other common mons like Garchomp, Tyranitar, Kingamit and Archaludon.
And Incineroars have no idea how to handle Mega Gallade. You can't flinch or intimidate Mega Gallade because of Inner Focus, and man!! Do they try, a lot of people aren't familiar with Mega Gallade's tech. And even if you manage to intimidate Gallade before he Megas, Sacret Sword ignores stat drops and hits Incin back with super effective damage.
I love that I can use my favorite Mega Pokémon and do okay with it. I'm still bad at competitive though, but I've started to build up a team around Mega Gallade and I'm making adjustments as I learn more what my weaknesses are.
