It's a battle of the birds as another Starter makes an appearance!
Mega Blaziken was the first of the Hoenn Starters to be released, coming out ahead of the other two. Fitting perhaps then, that its ability is Speed Boost- making it very easy for it to go first! This speed, combined with increased power, is a source of major pride for Mega Blaziken- especially its kicks. It can kick with such speed and force, that its legs will start to burn from friction against the air as it moves! Fighting also increases this bird's body temperature as it goes, making its blood literally start to boil, which only further increases its agility and power. Despite speed being such a focus of the Pokémon, its base Speed stat is only 100, just a 20 point increase from regular Blaziken. The majority of its bonus stat points go into its Attack and Special Attack- gaining 40 and 20 respectively! This leaves it with an enormous 160 Attack, and Speed that while at first may be modest, can soon get out of control. On the battlefield, ignore Mega Blaziken at your peril! As a Starter Pokémon, its naturally very beloved, but is Mega Blaziken loved enough to speed through the competition and claim victory?
Mega Pidgeot conquered extreme cold against Mega Abomasnow last time, can it manage the extreme heat? With both a type advantage, and the nostalgia factor, I wouldn't call this match up over for Mega Pidgeot by any means. Will it be the one to come out of the battle soaring?
