ADWD REREAD
Does anyone have strong ideas on how we get out of this Meereen plot? I kind of want to just burn the city down. But I feel bad for the slaves. I want Dany to leave but I don’t want slavery to return after. There hasn’t really been anyone who has stepped up and seemed a good possible ruler/governor of Meereen.
I think the Green Grace is the Harpy. I think the Shavepate is on the side of anti-slavery but is too cruel and probably can’t be trusted. Not sure if Hizdhar is with the Harpy or just a useful idiot. I notice he only talks about the “new” Meereen they will build when he’s alone with Dany, so maybe he means that shit and isn’t as dumb as he looks. Idk.
I saw a video that said Strong Belwas must have poisoned the locusts, because it’s a stupid way to poison someone, that they would have to eat a lot of a food they never tasted before. What if she didn’t like them? You’d poison something you knew they’d consume. All it accomplished was making Belwas seem more trustworthy, and he was sent by Illyrio so he’s probably not. This made me sad. I don’t want Strong Belwas to be a secret evil mastermind. I like Strong Belwas as he is. Just a big sweetie who probably reports to Illyrio.
But what if the poison wasn’t meant for Dany? What if it was meant for Hizdhar? (I would guess the Shavepate in that case.) There’s other people in the box too. I don’t really care that much to investigate too closely, honestly. We’ll find out when we find out.
The slavers gotta go, though. I mean, of course slavery is bad. But they are also weirdos and I don’t like them.
