If you are a car guy, (or girl) you know Chris Jacobs. While his automotive related career might have kicked into high gear from his ten-year run on TV’s Overhaulin’, that is just one thing on his extensive resume.
Of course, the exposure Chris received from Overhaulin’ opened many doors in the hosting world. Industry insiders recognized his talent, and he was soon hosting a variety of shows, including a 4-year run in the
entertainment news world, where he served as a host and correspondent for The Insider and Entertainment Tonight from 2009-2012. He also enjoyed a run on radio, serving as a regular co-host for two years on SpeedFreaks. Because of his popularity and familiarity on the network, Chris has become the Discovery Channel’s go-to host for special live events.
Today Chris serves as a Host for the full schedule of Mecum Auctions.
His vast knowledge is clearly evident as is his passion and enthusiasm for our hobby.
When he’s not on air or at an event, Chris enjoys family time with his
lovely wife and daughter. He is an avid sports fan, favoring teams from his hometown of Chicago. One of the highlights of his life was when he got to throw out the first pitch and sing the 7th inning stretch at Wrigley Field for his beloved Cubs. Chris also likes to spend his downtime golfing, sporting a single digit handicap.
Chris will be with us Saturday and Sunday. In addition to joining
us for some of our Premier Unveilings Saturday morning, he will
have several scheduled autograph signing sessions in the Mecum
Auctions display. Of course, he will also be checking out the show
(especially the Mopars!), meeting fans and posing for pictures.
