In the cool, damp climate of a Scottish garden in Aberdeenshire the amazing blue poppies were flowering, these are probably a form of Meconopsis grandis (Himalayan blue poppy, Tibetan poppy).

Shards of the sky on earth - blue or Himalayan poppy. This mesmerizing plant only belongs to the poppy family, but is a meconopsis letter-leaved (Meconopsis betonicifolia). He comes from the highlands of China, Nepal, India. This is a perennial with peduncles up to 80 cm in height, decorated with 8-10 buds, gradually opening in mid-June. Each flower lasts 5-7 days, so flowering lasts about 3 weeks. The diameter of the flowers is 8-10 cm
