Dispatch Thought 2- Robbie + Robert
I am of the opinion that Robbie was a bad parent but to me, it’s very important that he did love Robert, and love him beyond than just the legacy of Mecha Man. Maybe he did start off wanting a child just to continue the legacy but the moment he holds Baby Robert? He loves that boy
Let Love be the driving force of every action that man does in regards to his son, even the cruel ones. Give me a Robbie Robertson who fully believes his son is gonna be the best of them. Give a Robbie who believes that he is doing the right thing when he tells Robert to get up after he gets shot by the Mech instead of comforting him, because the villains aren't going to coddle him.
Give me a Robbie who's reaction, if he were suddenly transported to the future and sees all that Robert has done with the Z-Team, is nothing but pride. Who's reaction to Robert getting blown up in a coma is not disappointment but fear and worry.
Let the expectations be belief. Make the training, and late nights be the only way he knows to show love.
Give me a Robbie that would love Robert no matter the universe. Whether boy or girl, super powered or normie, hybrid or not, or whatever Au you want/can think of.
Give me Robbie who loves his son and is still a terrible parent because just because someone loves you, doesn't mean they can't still be bad for you.
