#mcu zemo

Okay so the reason why I started even thinking about this was because I was rewatching fatws and thunderbolts back to back and I started to think how zemo might interact with the new group (and probably kill some super solider 'allies' while he's at it) AND I realized zemo and alexi have quite a bit in common?

1. Both of their stories revolve heavily around being father's and grief over losing a child (nat died later in life than zemos son but I do think this is something they could bond over (which also small tangent Idk if it was on purpose but the early episodes of fatws with Yori and that quote about how 'theres no word for someone whose kids die', I always assumed that was meant to mirror zemo? Which is why bucky later decides to break him out of prison? But I never here other people talking about that))

2. They were both in prison for long periods (zemos been on the raft for quite a bit and alexi was in prison for wayyy longer)

3. They were both involved with their governments somehow (zemo with project scorpion and alexi as the red guardian working for the Russian government)

4. They're both quite a bit older than the rest of the thunderbolts (besides bucky obviously) and I think they could bond doing old man things

So in my mind palace I like the idea that (after they meet up for a mission or smth yada yada) zemo and alexi get to talking, with zemo trying to find a way to kill alexi (bc he's a super soldier duh) without rousing the rest of the team (and to get walker later) but as they talk, Alexi starts getting a bit personal and talks about how yelanas fitting in and making friends, and about the light in her eyes coming back after Natasha died. And zemo could relate to that sense of loss and they could bond over their dead family members until zemos plans of murder are all but ignored because he doesn't want to take a father away from his kid (altho he'll never admit to that)
