itâs not the first time theyâve worked with people that typically donât want to help them. and mark mardon has every reason not to. from the plane crash, to clyde mardon. itâs why hartleyâs trying to make him comfortable, at the very least. extend the olive branch. it doesnât help the fact that hartleyâs got a past of dating someone on the opposite side of the chess board. it registers that mark is dangerous, but the otherâs ability to manipulate weather on a molecular level is fascinating, among other things. there is a part of hartley that knows he finds himself holding somewhat of a crush. itâs happened before, and usually didnât end well. markâs standing awkwardly in the star labs, keeping his hands to himself, but hartley can see where his eyes are roaming over the various technology on the walls. hartleyâs hands are full. a cup of coffee, and a small bag of take out food. hartley had no idea what to get him, but heâs been dealing with them for hours, he doubts that he isnât hungry. thereâs a glance up to him as hartley moves to stick it on the table next to mark. â i â brought you something to eat. i didnât know what you like so i just kinda â took a guess ? i figured the least we could do was get you some food. â
