Harpy Virgil and Pirate Queen Cadenza live rent free in my brain right now. Heavily inspired by dnd harpies, not mythological ones-
But
Virgil who flies beside her ship on long voyages (someone has to direct the winds to favor her)
Cadenza who spends her free time making intricate beaded jewelry to adorn their feathers
Virgil who is always terrified they'll cut her with their claws
Cadenza who insists they cuddle in the crow's nest
Virgil who takes Cadenza flying because they believe everyone should get to experience that freedom
Cadenza who revels in being the only person who can keep a harpy stationary

So remember that one-off post I made about a Divine Warrior Swap AU?
Well, I wanted to talk about Aphmau and Aaron in the AU. But first, I must talk about Irene and Shad. (It has been forever since I've watched Diaries and the wiki is not very descriptive so I'll prolly get some stuff wrong)
Since Irene and Shad are swapped, I decided to give Irene a very "I'm doing all this very evil stuff for the sake of humanity" vibe. Essentially, after she confessed the origins of the relics(Shad got suspicious after their daughter disappeared and backed Irene into a corner), the other Divine Warriors were not happy to say the least. But instead of feeling guilty or remorseful, Irene just dug herself deeper. To her, she was doing it for the sake of the world. And eventually, she got it in her head that the world was too twisted for her to fix. So instead, she would have to burn it all down and rebuild it in her image.
Of course, the other Divine Warriors put a stop to her, eventually sealing her into a different relm(I'm debating on if I want it to be the nether (cuz that makes more sense in regards to the shadow knights)or the Irene dimension (cuz irony)). But either way, the others took it pretty hard. Irene was their leader, the one who brought them all together... And yet she was the one to betray them.
Shad definitely took it the hardest. Even after the others passed on, Shad stayed. Someone had to protect their world. But as the years passed on, he found himself caring less and less. Time and time again humanity proved itself to be evil and cruel. What was the point in helping them? So, Shad chooses to seal away his memories. Instead of doing it to regain his emotions, he did it to once again see the good in humanity.
Long story short, Aaron is now the protagonist.
I feel like the general events would probably stay the same, but with some changes. Tbh I don't really remember MCD Aaron's personality. But purely based on vibes, I feel like he'd be a bit more standoffish than Aph, and would take a bit longer to really get attached to Pheonix Drop. He would still help out, though!
In my head, I just see him strolling up to this half abandoned, desolate town and thinking, "damn, this place is a dump, I gotta fix this place up".
I'm having a lot of fun thinking about how Aaron would react to the whole Levin situation. Like, we know he used to have a kid in MCD, but we don't really know what he was like as a father. I'm just imagining him running up to Garroth like, "I found a baby, what do I do????", and Garroth goes, "when did you get pregnant?!", and they just stare at each other in complete silence until Garroth asks ".... Is it yours...?".
I like the idea of Aaron sort of stumbling his way through parenting in the beginning, before eventually figuring it out (with lots of help from Zoey ofc).
(Also the love triangle still happens. Honestly, everyone in MCD is bi to me)
Moving on to Aphmau, she has now taken Aaron's place in the story. This is going to change a lot, given how I just don't see Aphmau letting vengeance consume her life. She certainly craves vengence, don't get me wrong, but what she truly wants is to have a family again. However, she knows that she will never have that. Fate already took her family, why wouldn't it do the same again?
Her backstory is basically the same as MCD Aaron's: was the lord of Falcon Claw, was married to Lily(#doomedyuri), had a son(he was adopted), and everything was great. ...that was untill Zane showed up. He gave Aph the pendant (I think it was a pendant?) and then Falcon Claw went boom. Soon after, rumors spread about "the mad lady of Falcon Claw, who murdered her entire village in a single night".
So Aphmau became a wanderer. No village would want her, no home would welcome her. I'm thinking that instead of her saving Aaron by killing all those random wearwolves, she would find a wounded Aaron after her got attacked by said wearwolves, and would help patch him up. Their next meeting is a coincidence. Aphmau happened to be passing by, staying under the radar like usual, then Aaron spotted her. He had recognized her, and wanted to thank her for saving him.
Now, I'm not too sure about what would happen in between, but Aphmau would probably get wrapped up in the season 1 finale. The Irene dimension thing may or may not be off the table depending on where Irene was sealed, but there is still a confrontation with Zane. And I think it would be really funny if, midway through Zane's villain monologue, Aphmau ran up to him and sucker-punched him in the face. Just imagine this random five-foot-nothing of a woman comes charging up to Zane and then proceeds to start beating the shit out of him.
And do you know what would be funnier? If Zane didn't remember her at all. It's basically that one scene from Endgame;
"You took everything from me"
"I don't even know who you are"
"...You're about to"
But yeah, after that I don't really know. Honestly, it could go in so many directions. Do you guys have any thoughts? If so, please share them! I love seeing what you guys think!
How old is Vylad in MCD?
12-13
14
15-16
17-18
19
Im planing on making some doodles for my Absolute MCD AU, so I checked the wiki for how old Vylad was when he died and found literally nothing.
So I'm letting you guys decide!
Edit for clarification: This is specifically about how old he was when he died. (In the AU the shadow knights are basically zombies so they probably don't age)
Absolute MCD AU anyone?
So you know how theres the "Absolute" DC universe where everything really sucks in one way or another and that affects the characters & plot or smthn (I am not familiar with anything DC related) And you know how some people are taking this concept and applying it to other franchises? Well, I wanted to do that but with MCD!
So here's my idea:
What if the nether was like a parasite that's slowly infecting the over world? Slowly but surely it spreads, infecting everyone and everything it can untill the nether is all that's left. The shadow knights are basically zombies at this point; a hive mind that only does their hosts bidding.
I'm thinking that the nether acts like those fungi that take over the bodies of insects. The shadow knights purpose is to further the spread of the nether across the over world, killing and decaying anything and everything in their path. The spread can be slowed, but not stopped. Nothing can cure it...
At least untill a certain someone shows up outside of a small village called Pheonix Drop
