T-minus 27 days until I take the mcat and the last minute energy is real. I’m planning to take another practice test tomorrow and hopefully I will see some improvement.

After 2 months of not being motivated to do anything, I've finally found the motivation to get back into studying for the MCAT. My exam date is next month and although I'm starting to get nervous that I've lost so much time I'm trying to stay positive. What is making it easier is that I planned my exam date with the idea that if I have to retake it i still have enough time to do do before the application opens.
Remember, though you may have fallen down and don't think you can do it anymore there's always a chance to get up and either keep going or try again. No one can stop you other than yourself.
Happy studying! Ft my snowshoes haha. If y’all want to see more med school study updates give me a look on TikTok (bdelax) ✨
Petition to give any student who takes the MCAT some sort of certification for idk (stubbornness, dedication, perseverance???) that they can put on their resume, cause no sane human will voluntarily spend months studying for an exam that makes them question their abilities and purpose, in addition to the depression/anxiety/panic attacks and then sit for a 7.5 hours timed exam (like why long?) that will literally melt their brain. And then probably repeating exam again cuz score isn’t competitive enough and going through the painful cycle again with no f**king guarantee that it will get them what they want. (If you don’t get into medical school, it’s pretty much months of useless torture). Thanks for coming to my Ted talk!

Classes have gone online so we have been getting comfy ❤️
She tends to try and guest star in the lectures as well… but which is entertaining but also she won’t stop putting her butt in my face to do it.

I’m studying again.
My plan for this applications cycle is to wait until Christmas/New Years to determine if I need to retake the MCAT or not. (For those keeping track, I’ve only taken it once, was going to retake it earlier this year but it got cancelled due to covid restrictions/curfew stuff.) This will depend on if I have any interview invites by this time or not.
My plan is to retake the MCAT, if needed, in April. However, I won’t be able to devote full days to studying like I did the first time, so I’m going ahead and starting.
I decided to approach it much differently than the first time - I mainly focused on content review the first time, and didn’t do as many practice problems as I probably should have. I also felt like I could have retained the information a little better if I knew how to use study platforms like Anki. I used Anki for the first time this summer in my anatomy class and did super well, so I’m excited to use it for this.
I’m also well versed in a lot more topics right now without content review because of the core physiology classes I had in grad school. I already feel like I’m more prepared this time than I was last time.
Stay tuned for the journey, folks.
(Oh also, no I haven’t heard about the job I want, so keep sending the good vibes)
I’m starting my MCAT journey! Has anyone looked at the books and felt so extraordinarily overwhelmed? I have to teach myself most of the material because I won’t be taking the classes till later but in order to be in med school by 2023 I have to take it next January-April area. 🤢
