Álex keeps his distance, and takes only one opportunity to warn Bez. Marc won't fight for himself if anything were to happen, so Álex will fight in his stead. He warns Bez that he'll make his life hell if he ever betrays Marc, and he means it. He doesn't think he's ever meant something this much in his entire life. Bez seems to get the message, if his determined stare is anything to go by. That satisfies him.

Post Mandalika, Álex feels like all his suspicions were proven right. Bez did what he expected him to do and hurt Marc. So, naturally, he's never to be trusted again. Bez tries to reach for Marc by phone, and maybe Álex blocks him. He doesn't feel too bad about it. And in Valencia? Maybe Álex also places himself perfectly so Bez doesn't get close to his brother. It's natural for him. Keep the danger away. Keep the suffering away. Marc had enough of that in his life.

But then, bez will look at him, and these eyes are probably be the most miserable ones Álex will see in his life. He doesn't feel bad; he can't. But...he hears the Italian out. If anything, he can give him that. A benefit of doubt.

Maybe it's because Marc also looked sad. Sad in a way he wasn't when Valentino broke his heart. But Álex lets Bez get close this time. He's not overprotective; he never is, when it comes to his older brother.

He watches them talk again from a distance. He watches them hug. He watches Bez cry and cry and cry and then Marc is crying too and Álex can't do anything but stare stare stare. He tells himself that maybe this is what love looks like. It's more forgiving than he is, that's for sure.

(Marc tells him otherwise. But his brother is biased. He always thinks the best of Álex.)

They kiss, and Álex avert his eyes with a smile. Marco Bezzecchi is a threat. Or well, he used to be.
