Maytroid 2025 Day 26: Favorite suit upgrade redesign

I love the Samus Returns Gravity Suit so much, such an elegant absolute unit.

Also a companion piece to Day 8, because the area you pick up the suit at is a favorite, too. While the two Metroid 2 remakes interpreted many of the original's locations in similar ways, I love how their takes on the Tower are complete opposites.

AM2R's is volcanic, and oppressively dark and devoid of anything but the toughest lifeforms that can survive the heat. The main musical theme of the area is a growling, ominous remix of Upper Norfair, and the Chozo structure in the middle is an abandoned but still largely functional weapons factory.

In Samus Returns, the area is a brightly lit breath of fresh air, a lush underground forest in vibrant colours flourishing around pools of clear water in the overgrown ruins of what seems to have once been a greenhouse. The main musical theme is a particularly serene remix of Lower Brinstar.
