Famous Album Covers Start Singing in New Music Video for Roy Kafri’s ‘Mayokero’
In this superbly edited new music video for Roy Kafri’s ‘Mayokero,’ famous album covers including photos of Madonna, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Bob Dylan seemingly come to life and begin singing. The project is a collaboration between Roy Kafri and artist Vania Heymann who wrote and directed.

"Siempre me ha gustado la obra de arte en portadas de discos, algo sobre él para mí es similar a la esencia de hacer videos No es un privilegio en la creación de una imagen para acompañar a alguien de música- así que me sentí como cruzar los dos (música videos y portadas de discos) se espera que sea significativo. un buen amigo mío (que es cara es en el video por cierto) tiene una colección de vinilos de cerca de 2000 registros. Cuando se toca un disco, le pone la tapa en la pantalla, en un pequeño pedestal. Así que a veces, cuando el retrato del artista es en la portada me quedo en eso, de vez en cuando voy a conseguir la sensación de que si voy a mirarlo por el tiempo justo rostro de la artista en el álbum cantaría a lo largo. Básicamente la idea nació de esos pensamientos. el mini-historia es un cruce de dos Memorias- el primero es de mis padres desperdiciando su magnífica colección de vinilo cuando yo estaba en mis mediados de los adolescentes. Para ellos era sólo basura para deshacerse de, una tecnología obsoleta. el segundo recuerdo es de mí de pasar todo el dinero que me dieron como regalo mitzvah de la barra para comprar un Minidisk. En el momento de la decisión de un Minidisc era todo lo que quería, simplemente parecía el gadget más cool. Parecía que el futuro de los reproductores de música. Pero al parecer, se trataba de una tecnología que no tardó en fundido de apenas una nota al pie en la historia de los formatos musicales, supongo que un poco como lo que el Laserdisc fue a los vídeos. Finalmente se trata de un video acerca de las malas decisiones, o más bien sobre cómo las decisiones parecen diferentes como las perspectivas de cambio (incluso cambios leves). Y también se me acaba de tratar de hacer que las personas muertas cantar. En ese sentido también me gustó el hecho de que no hay letra de la canción, de esa manera yo no estoy poniendo palabras en boca de la gente ".

Vania Heymann - "I always loved the artwork on album covers, something about it for me is similar to the essence of making music videos. There is a privilege in creating an image to accompany someone's music- so I felt like crossing those two (music videos and album covers) would hopefully be meaningful. A good friend of mine (who's face is in the video by the way) has a vinyl collection of about 2000 records. When he plays a record, he puts the cover on display, on a small pedestal. So sometimes when the artist's portrait is on the cover I'll stare at it, once in a while I'll get a feeling that if I'll stare at it for just enough time the artist’s face on the album would sing along. Basically the idea was born out of those thoughts. The mini-story is a cross of two memories- the first is of my parents throwing away their magnificent vinyl collection when I was in my mid—teens. To them it was just junk to get rid of, an outdated technology. The second memory is of me spending all of the money I got as bar mitzvah gifts to buy a Minidisk. At the moment of the decision a Minidisc was all I wanted, it just seemed like the coolest gadget. It seemed like the future of music players. But apparently it was a tech that was quick to fade- just a footnote in the history of musical formats, I guess a little like what the Laserdisc was to videos. Eventually it's a video about bad decisions, or rather about how decisions seem different as perspectives shift (even slight shifts). And also it’s just me trying to make dead people sing. In that sense I also liked the fact that there are no lyrics to the song, that way I’m not putting words in people mouths."

This incredible video from Israeli director Vania Heymann takes the clever concept of famous album covers coming to life and executes it brilliantly. If you're a vinyl fan like myself, this video is definitely one of the coolest you'll see this year.
