• If Burning Spice was to make Capsaicin, I feel like it would make most sense for that to happen before he got sealed away in the silver tree. Too little time would've passed after he was released.

• I am personally writing about if Burning Spice, NOT Herald of Change made Capsaicin (although that is also such a cool idea for this headcannon). For this explanation, Burning Spice made Capsaicin after he was corrupted.

• I doubt he thought he'd care for Capsaicin as much as he would. He thought he was just making a child to hand off some of his power to. Then he held Capsaicin for the first time and that all completely went out the window.

• He had never held anything that small before. He destroyed everything he touched, but he had just CREATED something. It brought back old feelings he had kept hidden away ever since he corrupted. The fact this thing he had created was made from his own dough made him even more important in his eyes. The second he held Capsaicin, he knew he would protect him with everything he had.

• That didn't mean he was soft around him, Burning Spice would actually be a very strict parent. But he would never yell at his son without reason. I do feel like he would beat him as a punishment, but VERY LIGHTLY. He's not punching him across the room, guys. He knows his strength. And he would only do this if Capsaicin did something incredibly stupid. If anyone else ever laid a hand on Capsaicin? They might as well already be pronounced dead.

• Capsaicin is a tiny ball of chaos, and Burning Spice loves that. It makes him less predictable. Makes it more fun to take care of him.

• Burning Spice didn't try too hard at first to get Capsaicin to call him dad. But when he realized his son wasn't exactly calling him anything yet after he had learned to speak several words, he got to it. Capsaicin eventually ended up calling him Fafa while he was still learning to speak, then Papa, and finally, father as an adult/teen.

• Burning Spice would train Capsaicin from the moment he could be trained. He wanted his son to know how to defend himself. He also wanted to make sure his son knew how to control his powers.

• Capsaicin isn't afraid of his dad. He respects him. He sees his father as the strongest cookie he's ever known. But he still knows his dad would never really hurt him. Despite his rough exterior, he knows he loves him.

• At times, Capsaicin's powers would overwhelm him. After all, he was a kid born with these powers. Burning Spice was fully grown when he was created, Capsaicin wasn't. It was much more difficult for him to actually control the immense power he was given.

• Thankfully, due to Burning Spice literally creating him, Capsaicin's powers never hurt him. He would often comfort Capsaicin through touch whenever he got too overwhelmed. It helped him stay grounded.

• Spice cookies (as seen with Capsaicin) can handle extreme heat. They can also heat themselves up. A lot. I like to think that if Capsaicin has a nightmare or something, Burning Spice would sit with him and let his body warm up to comfort him (this can be seen in my first drawing). I feel like that's totally something spice cookies would do to comfort each other.

• With that being said, Burning Spice is unsurprisingly not that good at comforting others. He's only able to somewhat do it with Capsaicin because he knows exactly how to calm him down. And even then, he's pretty silent when he does. He doesn't exactly know what to say. He tends to just comfort his son through touch over anything else.

• How did Burning Spice deal with infant Capsaicin? Well for the first few months he kinda just rediscovered how to actually care for something. He actually grew to be quite anxious while Capsaicin was still a baby. He was completely defenseless. Literally anything could happen to him. Burning Spice would end up carrying him around with him when he wasn't sleeping. There weren't exactly good caretakers around and Burning Spice didn't trust leaving Capsaicin in a room all by himself.
