CRAZY that anyone actually wants to write a fic with my dumb au (/lh) but I am definitely not opposed to it >:]

Mkay first of all, I've got some official refs for him! Drew these last night and this is the perfect post to add em in :D They aren't visible but trust me there's some pet hair on his clothes obviously

Mkay as for headcanons/ideas:

- he'd definitely still love animals. He legally can't be Mateo Manta without it lol. In my au he leaves the rescue after a few years to pursue being a Spanish professor. The rescue still exists and he goes back to see the animals as often as he can, he just had to step away for a bit!

- that being said! He's obviously a little older in my au, maybe has been teaching for like 5-ish years? (aka dilf energy mwahaha)

-He'd definitely show pics of the animals and his past adventures in his lectures every chance he gets lol

- still very much overworks himself, at the end of the semester he's just ready to collapse </3

- he'd love helping his students, or just seeing them walk out with a better understanding of Spanish. Like he'd genuinely love being able to help people learn :)

- his students would love him and always show up to his office hours to even just vent to him bc they can trust him. He's still got big comfort energy!

- obviously has therapy dogs/pets for the students, especially during finals/midterms!
