The story was finished but I had so much fun in that other universe that I wrote another chapter which could be a special Christmas one. The muses of the Moulin Rouge is a fan fiction about Maya and Claudine in Paris in the 1890s. They will meet in unusual circumstances. I read a lot and watched documentaries to fit the period and Henri de Toulouse Lautrec paintings. I saw some of the ones depicted in the Musée d'Orsay that is when I had the idea to write about it. #kuromaya #claudinesaijou #tendomaya

My story has been edited. A bug had rendered it unreadable from chapter 3 to the end. I wrote it for the shoujo kageki revue starlight week. I will probably add an epilogue later and add mature content for Ao3 future publication. Anyway it could end here and remain as such. In 1891, Tendou Maya crossed the seas from Japan to become a dancer in Paris. Claudine Saijou was enrolled in the famous cabaret the Moulin-Rouge. Chance will bring the 2 women together. This is the story of their journey through Paris during the Belle Epoque, their meeting with famous figures of the time, and the discovery of love.

I have just published the 8 chapters of the fan fiction on Ao3. The 2 first chapters will introduce Maya and Claudine and their respective backgrounds. The story will relate the meeting to the two in another Universe and time line. La belle epoque in Paris 1890s. I made research to be faithful to life of the epoch. Maya and Claudine will meet and their bonds will get stronger with time.

As a French person, I wanted to settle the narration and their meeting in Paris during a period that I am fond of : La Belle Epoque. The characters they meet at the Moulin-Rouge are real, though their personality is a pure creation. I added a few French terms, it's hard to imagine La Goulue speaking English with her "Titi-parisian" accent. I made quite a lot of research and read a lot to be as close as possible to the real Paris in the late 19th century.</p>
