i think it gives him more layers. i am always under the belief that he does genuinely care for them all but he is under the disbelief that what he's doing is "right". i think the spy idea is interesting as well!! it kind of gives a layer of sadness to jli and whenever we see them all interact and it makes jli more compelling to me in the entirety

there's not a lot of people who prefer villain!max lord on tumblr, most people I've seen like the jli one better - is there a reason why you prefer him over the original? the booster dynamic ofc but other than that i mean
the booster dynamic mainly!! i love how complex and complicated it makes their relationship. i love jli max as well of course and the villain turn is very sudden but i find it makes all of max's previous characterization more interesting to me. i also encountered villain!max before anything other version of him so it may be exposure bias hehehe.

Max being in limbo for the years following JLI before finally taking a major role in a story (super buddies) and then like two years later getting another major role! (Infinite crisis) is so funny.
